Chakori was the most super hit Urdu film on box office from Dacca (Dhaka) film industry, ex-East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). East Pakistan (1947-71) produced 210 movies, 49 Urdu and 161 Bengali from 1956-71. Jago Hua Savera (1959) was the first Urdu film from Dhaka and Payal (1970) was the last released film. Chanda, Talash, Millan, Darshan, Bhaiya and Chakori were other big movies from Bengal.
This film Chakori was released on March 23, 1967 at Dhaka and on May 19, 1967 at Karachi, where it celebrated 81 weeks. It was first film of Shabana and Nadeem. Many of its songs got fame and are still remembered.

Beautiful song and you have rendered it with a lot of feel and style Wazif.
(I think it is set in Raag Darbaari and it reminds me the famous Mohabbat ki jhuti kahani pe roye of Mughal-e-azam!)

Giridharan ji…. I guess you’re right…. this is so lovely ghazal but whoever made this track basically made it almost impossible to sing on as there’s less space for pauses and pick connection notes…. I was trying this since long and feel that also sent it to Naqvi saheb for fixing but still couldn’t do…. today got a chance and did it finally. Thanks for appreciation and the lovely comments.

Wazif miya kya zabardast gana suna diya!!sunke bohat maza agaya…!!aise gaane sunne ko kahan milta hai??tum jaise doston se sunke hi pata chalta hai ki aisa bhi gana kabhi bana tha!!ab original ko zaroor sununga…tumne bohat ala gaya sunke bohat achha laga…!! overall a wonderful singing….Goes to Fav!!!

Out of the several friends from eSnips, only Mushtaque came close to remembering this song but it was uploaded by me a year ago along with another song “Woh Naqab-e-Rukh Ulat Kar” also from Mujib Aalam and in almost similar genre. I used the same track.
Glad to hear this song after a year Wazif. Nice dedication to Mujib Aalam. Lovely song and good improvising tabla beats. Suited to your scale and you tried to deliver your best too. Enjoyed it.

Wazif woh Shahid ka track nahi thaa….shayad tum waqif ho Ishaq Khan se unhki farmaish per ye dono geet gaye thaay. Unhon ne he track bheje thaay. Unka yehan bhi profile hai laikin active nahi hain.
