As you guys are aware Mehdi Hasan Khan saheb is sick and on the bed of recovery. Being my fav singer aaj jab unki yad aai to ankh najane kyun bhar aai…. such a great singer and we’re deprived of his singing these days. So I thought to present you one of his song he sang with Noor Jahan in Tum Milay Pyar Mila movie and that he sang himself in one of the mehfil. Presenting this Ghazal I pray may God give health to Mehdi Hasan saheb as well as Jagjit saheb and we all could see them singing once again. Here’s one link to Khan saheb’s recovery news:

Wah…. Wazif bhai…. Kyaa Ghazal sunayi hai aapne!! As you know, I am also a BIG fan of Khan Sahab…. Yes, he is now at an advance age and he is undergoing what all of us will go though…. unfortunately, it’s inevitable. May God bless him with relatively healthy years…. Kiya yaad dila diya Wazif….Baday singers ki badi baatein….kiya khoob kaha Khan sahab ne ke Madam Noor Jahan ko tu yehan nahi la sakta unke bol bhi khud kahoonga. Iss level ka ganay wala jis condition main Mehdi Hassan aaj hain apne geet khud sunkar kiya sochta hoga. Khuda unper apni Rehmat kare. Ye geet tu mere dil mein uss waqt se hai jab release hua thaa. Agar track mile tu khud bhi gao. Shayad Shahid Kamal ne banaya ho….zaroor maloom karna.

Naqvi saheb, Aap ne uss daur ki yad taza kara di…. ab aise songs hain na lyrics hain…. bus sab commercial hai. Khan saheb ka lafzon main doobna aur unke real meanings main ehsas dilana…. bus unhi ki baat thi. Well Karaoke banwa li hai aur jald hi gaon ga Inshallah. Thanks for your share here :-)

I know I should listen to more …I know more of Ghulam Ali….but i can tell you one thing…I have heard many many versions of ranjishi from different great artistes across the globe…none can come near the greatness of Mehndi Hassan sahab’s rendition…we can all pray but as Madhukarji commented…lets hope he is happy and leads a happier and fuller life.
