This song was sung by the maestro Mohammad Rafi in the film ‘Mere Sanam’ (1965). The lyrics were by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The music was by O.P. Nayyar who took the filmi geet world by storm with his riotously lilting melodies. The song is based on rag kirwani. The main actors were Biswajeet, Asha Parekh and Mumtaz.

Gopal sir, One of the most beautiful song of yesteryears ….even today I have seen people stand up and dance to it in parties ….majestic guitar chords.

Very good singing, sur and thaal is perfect. The only thing I thought could be improved is the lazy drawl of Rafi saab ….it would be the icing on the cake.

many thanks indeed!
yes,I have sung this a bit too conventionally but can take care of it in a fresh upload when I get good recording equipment! Some abandon is necessary in this song, at least to the extent Rafi does it!

I shall check the whole gamut ofyour songs!
