Wow what a song pick Srividya!….needs great guttssssss….congrats on the choice first!
I have heard this song when Chithra had sung on stage….not in the original speed but tempo reduced….the last line of the swaras is v.tough indeed.
Great job by you…the aalaaps were nice too. the swaras also done very well…very minute slip at the last….but over all great!

Regarding the diction….there were few places like Pallikkoodam instead of paLLikkoodam, Thala ganam instead of thalakkanam (in tamizh compound words have a stress by adding a meyyezhuthu in between), iLakanam….instead of ilakkaNam.
Kudos to your choice of song and neat rendition!

Class choice of song Vidya….and one well-suited to you. Your voice, as always, carries tough songs well. Enjoyed this rendition very much… :)
I had a few nitpicks though -
one main point was on diction. Bharathi has covered those pointers one hundred percent… :)
another was in the scale. I felt some strain in your voice in the higher notes, and in the last swarams of the ‘M R S N D’….I think you would have sounded a lot more bolder and clearer had you reduced the scale a bit Vidya, coz after your Oru Murai, I do not want to expect anything lesser… :)

Srividya….is this done in one take? (after of course a few practice runs?) Good job…the overall feel was good. One can always point nitpicks, but to take on this tough classical number in itself deserves kudos.

lovely and tough song pick…. must be u put ur child to sleep and recorded this one :) u have not sung with open throat…… thats the reason in ur aalaap little portion was missing…. this tough song u sung it casually…. nice voice…… keep it up….

Claps Vidya! … very sweetly done in your own unique voice and most of your nuances were very good. Valiant singing to carry through a tough song as this one and you did very well indeed and kept your cool and concentration. I think IMO no need to try it at a lower pitch as this is your voice and I didn’t hear any strain as such … this is just your voice and I appreciate it for its sweetness and it deserves generous applause!. Kudos and keep up the great singing work.

wah sri……lovely singing one of my favourite of chitra…nicely rendered. a very tough song. with classical , tappankoothu, melody. and you have done beautifully …considering the difficulty of the song….you have done it beutifully. one can find mistakes…but i dont think you have done many mistakes with this one… yes u cold have done with an open throat try. but still , its up to you …how u sings and what suits you better…

Really a great attempt srividya.Asusual your singing was good.But not one of your best IMO.Agree with bharathi about the diction. Words like paLLikkoodam,thappa thappa
needs more attention.You have sung ‘palli’which means a ‘lizard’and instead of ‘thappa
thappa’ you have sung ‘dhappa dhappa’and IMO you were not concentrating more on the
lyrics.And due to this, the words clarity was less.You were bit nervous.Loved the
swarams at the end.No worries,it happens.Appreciate you for taking up this challenging
song and ofcourse a challenging song for ‘the everlasting supremo’iLayaraja sir and
‘vairamuthu’sir.One of my fav movies of ‘Eyakunar sigaram K.Balachander’.Reminded
me of those days.Thanks for singing it.All the best.

Srividya, you have sung this quite well without any significant flaws. But you certainly are capable of a better attempt. Lowering the pitch maybe an easy solution, but the song would lose its punch. I feel you can sing this in the same scale with a bit more energy and when your voice is perfect. Congrats to you!
