I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs, and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music, as George Eliot uttered I would need no other temporal pleasures or diversions to get my pain-piled mind to gain normalcy other than music. In fact, I had a hectic week and some intricate issues in business and was so happy and excited on seeing this favourite song of mine genuinely covered by 2 of the most respected talents here. Actually I had listened to this last night as soon as it was posted. But wanted to hit the sack with the essence of this number completely imbibed without any conventional losses in the intoxication this had brought and so couldn’t comment then. And after listening to this, had a chance to talk to couple of people later last night and my mind was completely rejuvenated. Thanks Srividya & Kumar.

தூண் மறைத்த சிம்மத்தையும் கல் உறையும் தேரையாய் சாந்தப்படுத்தும் இசை. My personal experience proved me so and of course no one would oppose, am sure.

* Srividya! Superb singing. A complete involvement. Voice drips like purest honey from hive. My favourite song composed by IR in the recent times. There are some flaws(I wont call them nitpicks) pertaining(only) to the diction. x-( ‘Isai’ was pronounced as ‘isi’. When these master-piece compositions are covered, pls make sure that diction doesn’t joust with you. Its my request. The way and the style you involved in singing was awesome. Liked it very much. And cover some MSV songs and early IR compositions. Any singer would find them interesting and challenging to cover. I am confident that you can do complete justice. I can suggest you some if you wish. And the basic recording technique has to be learnt from the masters here. They can guide u. Thats it from me. Thanks again. A classy delivery which a genuine music-loving soul cannot deny to utter at all. :-)

*Kumar! Hope this song was in your wish list too. I could infer that this was done in a hurry. Am sorry if am wrong. You started off with low confidence level I think. But as the song ensued, your voice was effervescing and those swaras were fantastic. An extra ounce of effort would have given the required tint to this awesome number. And regarding mixing, the reverb was more in Srividya’s voice towards the end. Am not a master in mixing. I felt so. Pls forgive if I am wrong. Overall a nice rendition. I love to listen to this number in as many voices as possible. :-)

Muziboo should get me another rack to preserve all my favourites. Lol.

Simply suppperbbb singing! Awesome song pick!! One of my most recent favs among the songs done by Raja sir! Very very very well sung by you and Kumar! The swaram was sung really well! The syc was really nice! Just the somewhat echo effect given when the swaram was being sung was a lil disheartening… If only the same effect as in Kumar’s voice was given for yours too in tht portion then this would have been even better!

Still that does not at ALL take away the charm of the song and your beautiful singing!!

KUDOS to both of you for choosing this song and executing it so WELL! :)

Very well done Srividya and Kumar….really liked the control you had when singing those alapanas.

Few issues with mixing (noise and reverb starting ~4:36 on the female vocal) but can be easily rectified….Adobe Audition has great noise removal plug-in
