Tere Mere Sapne (Guide) - Female take
Tere Mere Sapne (Guide) - F... Lyrics & Chords
Movie : Guide (1965)
Music Director : S.D. Burman
Singer(s) : Mohammad Rafi
Lyricists : Shailendra
An eternal love song, oozing with romance, sung so soulfully by Rafisaab, this is sure to be a favorite of most Rafi fans. Here is my humble attempt at this inimitable Rafi gem – I absolutely love the lyrics and the flowy tune at Tere Mere Sapne. Interesting trivia to note here is that the original saxophone piece was apparently played by none other than the Late Panchamda…
Thanks to Shailender for sharing the backing track with me. Do listen when you get a chance. Hope you like my take at this… I have adapted some variations of my own, also to suit it from a female voice perspective.

Sudha,
Great attempt on this beautiful number from Guide……this is not an easy Rafi song to attempt in female’s voice, but you did a good job….
Liked the variations…….and the variation to the lyrics in the 2nd antra to make it look like a female version, well done….

Change in lyrics was fine but “tere ye do naina, Chaand aur Suraj mere” sounds pretty unisex to me.

I am completely agreeing with Shailedar….Yes…Yes….It is very difficult to sing a Rafi saahab number in female voice……But you have done it very cleanly……A decent effort……Your voice is as cute as ever…………Great work…

Aisoo, Srini, Akhila, Biju, Raj – Thanks also for that added gesture of fav’ing/liking my effort.
Songs from Guide are all beautiful, and I have sung “Mose Chhal” elsewhere, but don’t have a decent track to record it…
This is just an honest effort of trying to express this adored song in a female perspective. It was not easy. I’m glad some of you liked it.

Considering that it is originally a male song, I think you have sung it exceedingly well! Agree with Paras about the lyrics being unisex, but nevertheless the replaced lyrics were nice :) I think the natural sharpness in the female voice makes it difficult to bring that extra soft romantic feel that Rafisaab brings in this song. But kudos for traveling ‘the road less traveled’, once again stealing Paras’ quotes.

Sojan, Swati, Govindji – Thank you for fav’ing!
Hari, Vidya, Kumar, Harish – Thanks for “Liking”. I have intentionally changed some lyrics in between as pointed out by Paras di, coz somehow I didn’t like the idea of Do Naina articulated by the heroine – a 60’s woman…
Thanks all again,
Sudha
