Hi Sudha….
Superb selection…. I love this song a lot. I wish I had that classical singing background to attempt it. You sang superbly…. singing was fantastically good. Some of the notes were like “Waaah”!!!
Since this song is hardcoded in me could sense the differences. But doesnt matter really.
Only one observation I wish to share (could be wrong but want to share so that you can make out its worth)….I feel Playback singing requires a very tight grip on expressions & emotions. Sometimes in the process of singing the notes correctly that emotions seems to get dimmed. It returns when the singing is again in the comfort zone. I guess that should not happen. Whether you are singing lower notes or harkatein or for that matter even simple murkhiyan the classical touch does not need to be evident. I guess there is very very thin line – where you make those harkats/murkhiyan etc but they still they are so well dipped in expressions that the core classical base (though it is there) seems to be hidden under the icing of emotions.

Had I had that trained singing outlook in me I would have surely tried to figure out all this above gyan by myself. But since I dont…. I can only wish to share my thoughts to someone who sings so well and sounds expressive too.

Well that doesnt mean you missed on emotions throughout. :)I liked your rendition. You are amazing here!

VG – As I always say, this is just an amateur’s honest attempt. :-) Songs like these are tough to attempt on a k-track, and emotions can be dampened while maintaining “tayyari” and also strictly adhering to the k-track beat.

You have done a great job at such a difficult song! There were some places which could be better. For ex: The “Piya Baawari” in the mukhda, the harkat after “Bhayi baawari, Hui baawri…”. But overall great great job!

Pointers on “feel missing”, harkats etc. noted and will of course try to do better.
Yes, I did do some riyaaz before attempting this(aakars, taans, song rehearsal)
There are about 15-20 variations in the “Piya Bawari” harkat which I was not successful in nailing. As for the stanzas, they were done as continuous takes.
Do keep the constructive balanced f/b coming. Also Thanks to those who Liked or fav’ed this.
Also, I would love to hear others sing this without punching… :-)

Sudha this is one of the toughest song, and to render this needs energy and flow of words. We at home discuss a lot about many listeners, see it is very easy to give lectures and one should know to appreciate the pains the singer takes to bring the effort to this cover. There is no one in this site who take difficult songs and give us such beautiful renditions. My father – in – law is 70 + and is a fan of your songs.
Making originals, singing as we like, or easy songs is no wonder, which many do. We are always fans of your songs. We don’t have 10 ids for 10 members. it goes to our families favorites. thank you.

Love Rekha and Hema’s dance numbers a looot. It takes lot of efforts on the part of the singer, happy that U r learning the mixing skills too.
In my view u could make me dance that is all i need NOT bothered to compare with Asha, if i need that much i can as well go and listen to the Original and it is not at all fair on my part to ask for the same.
