Bio

I am a musician at heart and an entrepreneur at mind. With four music albums and over 75 compositions, my passion for music goes unsaid, dating back to my childhood days when I often accompanied my grandmother as she wrote and composed songs, and started performing live since my college days at IIT Madras.

Although I have had very little formal training in music, I have been mentored by Chitraveena RaviKiran on mel-harmony and the fundamentals of Carnatic Music.
I am a fanatic of Ilayaraja’s style of blending harmonies into melody and A.R Rahman’s orchestration. Ilayaraja, A.R. Rahman, R.D. Burman, Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan and Dr. S.P Balasubrahmaniam are among my all-time favorite Indian musicians. I enjoy listening to all genres of music from classical to hard rock – anything that pleases my ear ;) particularly Beethoven’s piano symphonies.

Besides being the founder and the driving force behind the music band Aavakai (http://www.aavakai.com), I am actively involved with SiliconAndhra, where I compose music for various events, songs, ballets and musicals. I have recently composed background score for an indie film and I am currently in the process of producing my own music album and looking for opportunities to score music/jingles for films/commercials/tv.
