My Dear All,
At the outset, I may please be allowed to share some of my memories & humble thoughts !
This is one of those great songs of our Dear One & Only One Mohammed Rafisaab, which my humble self can never forget & which I sing to myself practically everyday !
During my college days, I just fell in love with this song, learnt it & by GOD’s grace, won a lot of prizes singing it for competitions !
The reason that this song is so special to me, as I have mentioned in MUZIBOO many-a-times is that, apart from being a beautiful song, GOD had blessed me by granting my humble life’s most unforgettable opportunity of singing this song unplugged in the very presence of the legendary Rafisaab in his hotel room while he had been in Thiruvananthapuram for a programme many years back !
Rafisaab even joined my humble self in singing the third stanza of the song & he patted the shoulder back of my humble self saying " Wah Beta Wah " after we had finished singing this song together ! I wished & prayed that I could be dead & gone that very moment, as I thought that after getting such a great blessing of singing with & being appreciated by a great legend, I had lived enough since I had experienced something divine & great !
Well, coming out of tears & those nostalgic memories, I may also be allowed to mention a few more lines !
When I had joined MUZIBOO in 2008, I started uploading the live recordings of my stage performances which lacked quality in recording & mixing all of those being analogue recordings with improper balancing & excessive echo effects that were usually used for such live programmes.
Many of my fellow-MUZIBOOANS had pointed out this & I had assured them all that such songs would surely be uploaded again with proper recording & mixing.
This song is the first of the lot as I had promised our Radhika which is also being humbly dedicated to her ! In fact, she had even heard me sing this song live in one of my stage programmes in Thiruvananthapuram some years back !
Once again, with apologies if ever I had bored you all, I am presenting this rendition as my humble Tribute To Rafisaab for your hearing & valuable remarks !

TGKC – I still remember walking into TVM club late for this programme and shortly this song(an absolute fav of mine) started. Your rendition stayed fresh in my mind and thats what made me ask you when i heard your live rec here (years later) if it was you who had sung at that programme.

The then President of India, Dr. Zakkir Hussain inaugurated the mosque in 1964. My Dear Mrafi,
Rafisaab was here in Trivandrum during the year 1968 for his live programme in Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium towards raising funds for the Juma Masjid in Palayam Junction at Trivandrum. I do not remember the exact date for which I am very sorry. He had arrived in Trivandrum by the morning flight on the day of his programme & left Trivandrum by the next day’s flight.
Rafisaab had been to Trivandrum also before this occasion ie during 1960 for a private function which I came to learn from his own good self when I met him in 1968.
He had also been to Kochi during 1974.
So Mohanmmed Rafisaab had, in fact, come to Kerala three times, twice to Trivandrum & once to Kochi(Ernakulam).
