Bio

I have been living in the US, in Philadelphia for the last 35 years. I came to the US when I was 3 1/2 years old. I started studying western music when I was 8 years, I started playing the trumpet, and then learned to play the keyboard and guitar. I have also performed in various choirs since the age of 8 from the elementary to college level choirs. I am very active in my church, The Philadelphia Mar Thoma Church, teaching and playing Music for the choir. Music is one of first loves in life and I continue to study it even today including carnatic music. I sang my first Malayalam song in November of 1989 during our Church Sunday school anniversary. The song was Dasettans christian song “En Mano Palagenglil”. And since then I have performed on various stages in and outside of Philadelphia and other cities such as Chicago, Baltimore, Orlando, and Boston. My music group Tharangam Musics orchestra. I have performed songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu songs for concerts,church programs, weddings, and North and South Indian community events and programmes. Last year by God’s grace, I have completed 22 years of singing and performing. I have also been a winner of the Asianet USA award for Vocal regional music competition in 2003 and 2005 for the Philadelphia area and many other awards such as FOKANA and other local community and church awards.I released my first CD “Ente Deivam” in the US under my music label 7 Tone Records in 2005. Kester, Biju Narayanan, KG Markose, Radika Thilak also sang in the CD along with Me and my sister Bessie Mathew. I released my second Album " Yesuve Ninnakay En sangeetham" on Aufgust 21, 2011 in the USA. I will be releasing both Albums in Kerala soon as well. I have more CD projects in the planning stages, not only christian albums but other albums as well. I also love drama and am love acting as well. I have done drama projects in US, have video albums also planned.
