Hats off to AJ for trying a tamil song again! However, I liked your Mudal Mazhai better. I feel a little more expression would have been nice. There are pitching issues here and there too.

@Rash and Narayanan – Guys, i completely agree with the expression/feel part……But the only issue is the language, cos I never ever spoke Tamil in my life before. But next time onwards, I will make more effort in learning the song and its nuances if i am not familiar with the language….

Tara – Thanks for giving me this oppurtunity to sing this one with you. You are mindblowing in this song. I am really happy with the outcome on this one. Hope to do such duets with you in the future.

Tara ….you sang this brilliantly with top notch expressions.

AJ ….very commendable effort from a marathi manus ……some pitchy portions were there. Also the balance/processing of vocals between you and Tara were not in sync….but hats off to you man ….I guess now I should attempt a Marathi song will dedicate it to you ….:-)

AJ, As always like your spirit to experiment with Tamil songs. Good attempt on this song. Felt the effects on the high pitch portions could be improved/changed for your vocals.

serious try AJ-Slight improvement needed on the landing notes in their curves.
Further This song is rather harsh on all the people who can not pronounce the idaiyina LLa that is the lla as in Pralayam-and AJ you are also unfortunately affected,as there are way too many lla’s and ll’s in the pallavi

Tara :Your breadth noise is very audible in the pallavi….did you keep it by choice?Otherwise like another goog day in the office…

AJ – bold attempt at a Tamil song! there are diction issues here and there , but definitely pardonable ones only (of course based on whatever Tamil i know!). Pitching,the feel and at times the nasal bug – are points for improvement.

AJ: A loud applause for the brave effort. We should appreciate sadhana sargam, udhith, etc for their tamil originals. I donno how they capture the feel without knowing the meaning. As everyone mentioned pitching is the main drawback in this song. But i liked ur voice.

Tara: spectacular singing. I thought AJ is using the original song with male voice cut.

Rahul, barring some pitching issues, your diction & style were, in fact, far better than one of those other covers that had come recently. You are also very tireless & dedicated in selecting & attempting different varieties of songs in various languages.
Tara, yours was the best rendition of the female portion among all the covers and it almost resembled the original.

Thanks everyone for listening/commenting on this one. I was slight apprehensive on how i will fare in this one but Tara gave me a lot of confidence to get it right. I practiced this song a lot wrt diction for 15-20 days……listening to it in my car, bus, campus, lab and other places (which need not to be mentioned :)). Well, I know i have a lot to improve and I surely will take all ur pointers/suggestions and will move forward trying to improve in each and every aspect.

It is very nice to hear a Tamil song from you :-) It takes a lot of courage to attempt a song that you don’t understand.

But your diction was fair enough for the most part and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tara’s voice and presentation is awesome. Sounded like the original. I am just a month old in Muziboo and this is the first time I am listening to her. I am going to listen to her other songs.
