Hi World,

I turned 50 this July, and made a resolve to unleash an old and suppressed passion: to give due vent to my musical talents (writing, composing and singing). The events that have taken place in the two months since, have been, well, dizzy and mindboggling!

For those of you who live in Delhi and went to any PVR screen in August, you must have seen the film “Dilli Hamari Hai”, bearing the Common Man’s sentiments around the Commonwealth Games 2010 ( this was before the rather animated media coverage of some issues with the preparations, that is!) That was my first attempt, and it was overwhelming that the PHD Chamber of Commerce decided to sponsor the song for a two month period, right until the Games…. We expect a million eyeballs and eardrums to receive this piece. Doordarshan also called us for an interview, another first on National TV for me…. see http://www.dillihamarihai.com/

And then again, a week ago, I was asked to do a lead role (that of a burly 50 year old corporate exec, the only befitting role for me, I guess!) in a short film based on a real incident, which shall be sent for some international festivals. Its been made by a young man who is convinced I have done justice to the project. Yet to see the edits….

Meanwhile, I have completed a song that recognizes the many honest persons who silently serve with sincerity, in a public service culture that has a popular image of being fully infested with corruption. If all goes well, maybe it will soon hit the circuit.

Lastly, a nice peppy anthem for Delhi, my city, tuned on a racy Brazilian samba rhythm, to be performed by school children… Watch this site over the coming weeks!

Why am I saying all this? To share with you that we must never give up our dreams because it is too late….

Its surprising but true, that often, Life finds a way!
