This is an evergreen song composed by the great Raveendran Master… Wonderfully sung by Dr. KJY! All the songs from this movie are a masterpiece! This song especially was and is still loved by every malayali and also people from other regions who are familiar with Malayalam songs…
This song is a personal favorite of mine and also my family… I am sure it is also the same with many of you guys out there… Not at all an easy one to be singing… Especially when your voice is not in great shape… But here is a humble attempt of mine to sing this evergreen hit…
I am sure there are issues, as this was recorded at one stretch due to voice issues… I know I can do much better than this and I sure will do it… Please feel free to let me know your opinion on my attempt… I shall certainly use your pointers when I re-do this once again when my voice is gets better… I could not resist my temptation to sing this one and upload… Hence, taking this giant leap of uploading it now…

Sushanth, nice of you to attempt this classic of Raveendran master. I can say it is good in bits and pieces-resulting from a single take. In many places clarity of notes was lacking, and the route went off the raga scale. In both the charanams, the ending ascend of notes were totally off the Jog scale.
Sushanth, I feel you are capable of delivering a more perfect output if you took some more time to construct the song brick by brick. These are classics, if you like them, you have to treat them with respect. A song which the great Yesudas took hours to perfect, dont think of attempting in one stroke.

Sushanth, tough song and you have done an awesome job. And you have brought out the brugai and alaaps very well – too good man. And your voice is coming out rich and melodious.
All performances have scope for improvements so I hope I can share some feedback. Some high notes and the some other areas as you do a fast up-down sangati, where shruti is getting impacted.
Overall a lovely effort.

@Rajeevetta – Thank you so much for the pointers… Humbly accepted… I shall certainly work on them… With due respects to the song, its composer, singer, lyricist and all the others who have worked on it, I would like say that I have sung this sung with a lot of respect to all who worked on this masterpiece… There is a thin line of difference between attempting a song at one stretch and paying respect to it… IMHO I would sing a song only when I feel there is somethg special in it and this feeling would come only when I respect the song… Attempting to sing a song at a stretch does not necessarily mean disrespecting the song or all the efforts the professionals put behind it… I have never tried nor want to compare my efforts with the great Dr. KJY, cos I cannot even achieve 10% of what he would have done to any song, especially this one… Building a song brick by brick is definitely possible with the technology available to us… However, I do not believe in this to be honest, as those bricks will definitely not help you when u have to perform the same song live… There honest, this will definitely help you make the song perfect or atleast near perfect, but then what happens to the perfection when you have to sing the same song live? Not many will be able to reproduce it… That is the perfection I am after…. So I only use this technique when needed most, especially for songs where I do not have the breathe control for the song and also sometimes when I record with Unni, as he believes in gettg the song as perfect as possible… Even I too believe in perfection, but then my voice is not supporting multiple recording sessions to be honest… Hence, I uploaded this only know what an audience would feel like if I sing this live on stage… This is what I mentioned in my write up too… And definitely not with the intention to disrespect the song sir… Raveendran master my fav music director and all his songs are gems! I treat them with utmost respect… I sincerely apologize if I have written anythg wrong here, but then I just wanted to make my intentions clear… Sorry if I hurt your feelings by my words or my efforts in singing… I shall strive to do much better sir… Thank you once again for the comments and feedback… :)

so to impress hard core mallus is bit tough.

it is very nice the way it is….but i feel that u could do better with more practice…mainly with some of the KJ brigas which are 99% impossible….but what guts u have man to cover this song….lovely ragam of Jog

Great attempt of this evergreen classic Sushanth. Keep practicing to improve on the subtle details. The notes in both charanams starting from ‘Kaviyude’ and ‘Yadhukula’ needs attention. Also, try to open up more at the high registers. Kudos for attempting this toughie.

Congrats for trying this song! But singing is only average and not up to the mark. Have to practice more and more when you singing a song like this. If we take, Dasettan’s song as 100%, your’s is only 30 – 40%. I am sure that you can improve lot and sing far better than this. All the best wishes dude
