Hi Guys!
The holy month of Ramadan begins today! This is considered the 9th month of the Islamic calender and is also considered to be one of the most holiest months of the calender. This is the month during which Muslims worldwide fast through the day, from dawn till dusk. The belief is that through fasting and prayers, the individual would be burning away all the sins and would get closer to the almighty.
Here I present a song on this holy occassion, which speaks about the holy land of Mecca… I don’t think I have to say much about Mecca… This is believed to be the holiest place on earth… Every year, millions of Muslims perform the “Hajj” pilgrimage to Mecca walking seven times around the Kaaba. The Hajj pilgrimage is considered to be a religious duty that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime, by every able-bodied Muslim… Many believe that their lives are incomplete without the Hajj pilgrimage… Mecca is considered to be so sacred that the Saudi government has banned the entry of Non-Muslims into the city…
I am also dedicating this song to the Old is Gold season…. Now coming to the singing, as you all know I have been struggling with my voice offlate… Hence, I have had to work an extra mile to hit the lower registers in this song… I have tried my best here… Strangely enough I had to record the last part of the song separately about 3 times in order to get it alright. Kindly pardon the misses… Not at all an easy one to sing… But wanted to dedicate this on this holy day… Hope you all like my humble effort…
