SHRUTHIYIL NIN UYARUM
SHRUTHIYIL NIN UYARUM Lyrics & Chords
Here’s a song that is very close to my heart……Shruthiyil Nin Uyarum from Trishna, a film that was released in the year 1981 and popular for its songs. This song was written by Bichu Thirumala, composed by the noted music director Shyam and sung exceedingly well by K J Yesudas, who won several awards for this rendition. Infact, KJY has rendered it so effortlessly that I used to sometimes wonder whether it is such a simple one…but I realized it’s not so when I was recording the song. That’s the greatness of this gifted singer. A true legend and a matter of pride for music lovers like us……thank god I am living in this era….
Sincere thanks to my friend Sathish who helped me with the mix, and off course my good friend Biju Ramachandran, for his useful tips.
Please listen and leave your valuable feedback, which would definitely help me learn and improve……Cheeers…

Suri – Beautiful song, good to see this up finally. You did really well at the lower ranges of the song, that being your strength. The sustains at layamam, the highest notes and diction can be better.

Hi Menon…………
Wow….What a song yaar……
First of all , a standing ovation for selecting this song. Syam – Bichuthirumala team at their best…….Then , it’s not fair to talk about Daasettan & he is the one & only Gaanagandharvan of this whole world……….I would like to recommend you to hear a line that he had sung in the song “Ente Sindhoora Rekhayilengo” (Movie:- Sindoorarekha Music:- Sarathi sir) with Chithra chechi………That is “Kaalame Veendumenne Kaiyyelkkukille………Padaan Marannu poya Gandharvane…….Ee man veenaye…” Still when i hear that line , i used to cry & tears will automatically place them in my eyes !!!
Now about this rendition………….Malayalathil namukku “irutham vanna” aalaapanam ennu parayaam !!! Just perfect….You were very keen & careful in rendering the same without making any prob at all……Though it looks easy , it’s a very tough song indeed……For reproducing this , we need a special talent & of course , u r blessed with that……“Layaamay…” portion was just awesome…….
Great & amazing….All the very best……Goes to my fav.

Hi Surendran!
What a song pick! Simply love this song! You have rendered it well… The line “Layamaayi….” when sung the 2nd time in the anupallavi was a bit shaky… This apart, very good attempt at this toughie…
All the very best!

Expressive rendition Suri. The impact of the song was well preserved. One area of improvement – felt the sustains @ Layamaayi and the same spot in the 2nd charanam can be volume modulated with some more vibrato to make it more effective.

Radhika – your observations are bang on…need to work on those areas
Biju – Play back!! wowww… have a long way to go buddy. Need to work really hard on the grey areas before i can even start contemplating…anyways a thought on those lines from wonderful singers like u is indeed encouraging…thanks…
Suresh – I have not heard that number from Sindhoorarekha. Shall definitely listen. KJY is truly is a Gandharvan…an inspiration…Glad u like my rendition and thanks for faving

Kumar – thanks for the suggestion. shall do the needful
Harish – would appreciate if you could point the “off pitch” areas. would be useful…thanks…

Thanks to your friends who inspired you to sing this. Thanks to KJ’s incarnation on this earth to give us his vocal music. No other music is required for such singers.
Having said that…you stand apart too in my music world. Beautifully sung…I don’t understand Malayalam but isn’t that what music is all about? Touches the soul irrespective of it and your voice has done the magic that too.
My apologies for visiting it late.
