This song is an eternal favourite of mine from the Rajanikanth starrer Mannan. A once in a life time song composed by the great Illayaraja and exceptionally well rendered by K J Yesudas. Arguably one of the best songs depicting the greatness of a mother, this creative work brought out the genius in Illayaraja and the best from KJY.
From the moment I got this track, I wanted to sing and record the song. Got into my moods one fine morning and requested my singer and composer friend Sathish to help me with the recording and mixing. He agreed to do it, in spite of the short notice and paucity of time. My sincere thanks to him, Mr Anush (for providing the track) and Mr Suresh (for his valuable tips while mixing).
I dedicate this song to the person for whom I have the greatest respect and admiration – MY MOTHER; and to all the wonderful mothers in this world. They indeed are angels and epitomes of love, care, patience, grace, dedication, hard work, tolerance, selflessness and sacrifice.

Surendran – lovely song pick and well sung. The depth of your voice and feel espec at petra thaay were outstanding. From an improvement perspective – at certain spots where you go high, there was an unusual nasal twang in this one, which i dont remember from your earlier renditions.

Many thanks for your feedback and suggestion. Yes, you are right on the “twang”. This song was sung at a scale higher (D sharp)than my normal scale (C,D). Felt a reduction of scale might spoil the track quality and so decided to give it a try.
Regular practise of the high notes would have definitely helped. Shall work on it. There is no substitute to hard work. Thanks once again

v well sung bro.yu have sung with good feel and control.picking 2 1/2 scale and singing is like an everest climb for many.yu have done it with ease.this is precision singing.
