Well, first of all, kudos for choosing an old song of PS’s :). Semma clarity in voice! Shruthi slips enakku romba kaekkala. You are generally very very good with shruthi adherence IMHO! Expressions were topnotch :)

But antha extrafitting sangathis in a few places didn’t quite sit there. Old songs are differenciated by medieval and modern ones by the quality of sangathis. Pazhaya paattukkunnu oru type of sangathis irukku (itha naan sollala- MSV sir oru show-la sonna gnyaabagam!). KVM song la IR type sangathi poattirukke :D. PS song-la SPS type sangathi poattirukke :D….Nalla creativitynnu solluven.

Everything said and done, I am taking this to my favs for your outstanding choice of song and for the bravery in venturing into a not-so-often ventured arena! :) Please attempt more such old songs and you will excel with practice.

Akka, romba santhoshama irukku indha comemnt padikkaracahe. Absolutely agree with you on the extra sangathis. Koodave porandhuduthu. Am consciously trying to avoid it. Can you be more specific in which areas you felt those extras? Offline pesuvom. Will be really helpful and thanks for faving it.

Loved it even before I started playing, simbly for the choice of song….and beautifully carried Subha….not sure about any pitching, but yeah, a few sangathis were….eppadi solradhu….they were not fitting into that flow of the song which sits very stubbornly in all our minds…pazhaiya paatu, famous paatu’naale indha prachana dhaan….:)
but loved ur rendition, thalling to FAVs….:)

Subha! A Very tough song and should be very very careful from imparting additional nuances as it may mar the flow of the song to some extent, IMO… Am not an expert to comment on the sangathis but as a listener, I could differentiate things pertinent to the in-statement of sangathis… At some places, you were not able to control ur throat from delivering those additional nuances which were not necessary at all… :-) And I could feel, some extra boldness given to some words which is not required for a song of this genre… Giving throw to the voice and boldness in renditions – doesn’t mean the same… Right?? Songs from KVM & MSV had the mood of the songs packed with the tunes and there wasn’t any urge or need to express the mood in each and every word of the song… Following the tune and a stringent adherence of mind to the situation and visuals would help us giving the flow mandated… But I think you can eventually overcome that urge to instill additional nuances as I have brought it down myself after sustaining some clouts… :) Second round of applause for the confidence you had while rendering this… Its pretty evident… And mixing was nice too…. Those gasps definitely have given a different color to this song… One stretch??? Mixing and one-pass recording(though a punch-in was noticed in only one place) has intrigued me to applaud for the third time…. Over all, a classy presentations!!!!

Needless to say that this gets tossed to my favs… Yours s one of the sweetest voices that can adapt to songs of any genre… Best wishes Senior!!!!!

I hope people will remember such melodies in the next few decades. With the advent of techno in Music, melody is suffering a lot. And I am a strong supporter of melody and a believer of melody since our melody system has withstood the test of time.

I did not know this was a KVM composition. Of course P Susheela’s voice is impeccable.

Subha, you have come close to it with your performance. Nalla iruntadu. Lots of emotions in your voice, befitting the mood of this song.
