Ha ha ….awesome team effort guys !! Srini has a great range ….and has been one of my favourites here. Its not an easy composition to sing because of the extreme low and high notes. Just felt that srini’s vocal volume could be a bit higher in the mix….

Subbu – As i have already said, very good work on the composition & lyrics(?!). Do you think the initial piece on a diff instrument would give a better start to the song?
Srini – though my ears are still not good wrt mixing, felt that the mix could have been better. Your vocals sounded a bit dry to me. Felt that the lowest range in this was a bit too low for you, the sustain at Vasanthame could have been better and theres a mild off at Athishtame. Your voice modulation was very good, as usual!

Srini – Nice singing. Felt you were not comfortable with the range. Your voice sounded strained in the higher notes. And as Radhika mentioned some fractional offs at few places like athishtame.

Glad to see the finished product. It has come out very well. The gap at 3:10 seemed rather abrupt – could be better I feel. The composition left me with a feeling of happy contentment. Very nice.
Srini, very well done. Singing at high range could be more open throated I feel. You did the softer portions very well.

@Bala :Thanks again…….You may be right man…….the earlier one I wrote almost resembled an Aasiriyapa!So worked on simplifying with common words,but did not want to use any slang as well.
@Kumar and Bala :Yes the Gap is intentional:)I agree it could be much better….Th reason was I wanted to end the song in a lower “near feel” register but when I did the entire last stanza like that it sounded very odd and hence changed the register to low only for ending chorus part……as the verse was in the higher range if all of sudden the register is changed it will sound odd….so introduced an abrupt pause………wanted to record Breadth Noise there…in fact I did albeit in a bad manner :)……tried various other means which I did not like and finally gave up…….Thanks so much for your thoughts!

nalla panni irukeenga….innum konjam short and sweet ta iruntha

Play bass on the song to give a melodic clue and binding of tracks this will also give a fuller feeling. otherwise it will sound tinny. srini sounded like some christian brother siging hallae luyaa …… lols could u make him comfort by making the lower and upper registers redone for him and correcting the dynamic pitch level ….he will sound superb if you can do that.
but you are doing a wonderful job subbu . My full marks and support to you anbu nanba.

Really nice work Subbu and Srini. The composition was very good. Srini, I liked your singing for the most part. I think the song stretched you a bit in terms of scale. Subbu, I think you should perfect this one. It has a lot of potential. Here are some areas that can be improved:
1. Few timing/sync issues.
2. The mix
3. If Srini sings this a few more times and gets familiar with the song, his voice wont sound as stretched and the vocals would flow better.
4. Maybe a better selection of instruments? (thinking out loud here)
5. A few variations/improvs in the last verse might help too as it sounds a little monotonous towards the end.
Very very good job guys. Hope you take this to the next level!

Subbu…I liked your song overall. Really a tough one for the singer. Tune is quite ’tricky’at places as Dhiraj said. Yet enjoyable.
Srini… You were very good at most of the places. As mentioned above I also felt the pitch was not too comfortable for you especially the high notes. The throw that if given was missing…Or was it meant to be sung like that? The lower notes also could have been sung with little more ‘bhaavam’.

I liked the tune and the subject of the song. But I am not sure why but I felt that the vocals weren’t freeflowing. Enjoyed the background music very much but I feel that there is still a lot of scope for enrichment.

Liked the theme immensely Subbu! The rest has been covered by many others. There is a lack of sync and quantization in some instrument tracks.Also Srini seemed like reading the lyrics than singing (think maruthi has expressed it with a sense of humour :))He has a very good voice and style though.
If srini plunges into the tune, lyrics and the mood of the song and takes it line by line it could be better. Also don’t know if the lower range suits him as I found that straining him. Also since the song goes to very high pitch, again reaching there would be tricky if the scale is increased. The instrument tones also need to be changed and better flow in the playing can make the track more enjoyable Never the less great effort!

Please use an actual flute instead of the keyboard-flute.
I have only one criticism. Too much reliance on the electronic keyboards instead of using actual instruments (except guitar)

Srini I think could work on the lower notes and also a lil bit on the higher notes also… Cos the voice was tending to get very slightly shivery at the higher registers….
But still loved the feel inherent in the song Subbu! Absolutely very well done! 5/5 from me and way you go to my favs! :)
