I have not listened to the original one before. I just youtubed this song and found that the abrupt breaking of words was intentional. When I listened to your rendition the first time, I thought you were struggling with the pitch at some parts (esp. first two lines of the antharas) and were comprising on the flow. But, I just figured out that I am totally wrong!!

Harshan, Superb singing! One of Rafi saab’s early hits- you have recreated the magic! I particularly liked your Rafian expressions! On the higher notes in the charanams a bit of strain was felt-you could have lowered the pitch by half a note. On the recording part I would have been happier with your voice level a couple of notches higher.
A full five is what you deserve for this beautiful song!

Harshan….it’s a strike 10 for sure! I know for facts that this song is not as easy as it sounds. Your high notes were head-on! Good range! Yes, as others pointed, there were a few diction issues….but it’s negligible as against your wonderful singing!

This song is so close to my heart as I have spent all my life in this busy city. One would definitely enjoy singing this song especially if you’ve had a taste of life in this city. :)

Very well sung. The mukhda is more difficult than it seems, but u got all the landing surs right! In the stanza, which is at a higher pitch, your voice beautifully opens up, and in comparison, the voice in the lower octave sounds a bit compressed. But, as the song progresses, there is more ‘flow’ which is great.
