Hi Sowmya!!!!!!
At the time of this comment drafted and posted, there were no comments before mine. So am lucky for endorsing my presence here with the comments for a legendary composition – rendered by a legend; composed by a legend; enacted by a legend. And now sung by one of the most prominent singers here in Muziboo. BTW thalaivar vayasu aanaalum innum youthful ah irukkaar. This song would be in the list of any of the light music programs. A strange fact which anyone would accept for sure without a negative nod. When I was 7 years old, I had a chance to listen to this in my uncle’s marriage; then during my college days I myself performed this song live for an established orchestra in Chennai and a month back had a chance to listen to this performed by an orchestra in one of the marriages I attended. Kamal Hassan is a legend. And lot of things are to be learnt from hin. Especially his usage of the available time effectively. Once he was out of action since he had his leg fractured and was admitted in hospital. And then he was advised to take bed-rest for a fortnight which he was upset with. He has decided to learn music not willing and reluctant to waste the time of 15 days. And he did of course. This is how he honed his skills effectively. This is just one of the instances. Many are to be shared but need tonnes of papers to pen down. Infact, IR wanted to sing ‘Thenpandi Seemayile’ from Nayagan which was sought-after by Kamal himself. And finally they have decided to give as 2 tracks, one having IR’s voice and the other one with Kamal’s. Another such Instance, for the movie Singara Velan – poattu vaiththa kaathal thittam. It was composed and Shri SPB was called to render but then he found the range to be high for any busy artiste then. He politely turned down the offer and it was IR who later wanted Kamal to give it a try and of course, Kamal has rocked in that song. *A Tough song to sing in a single stretch. It was not multiple-take recording then* And even now, Kamal takes acting seriously and have been to US to do a course in acting. I dont know what it actually means and drove me bonkers. I mean Kamal doing a course in acting. Lol. Enough is enough. ;-)

Thanks so much Sowmya for covering this immortal number. Sure that it is a real tough song to attempt at. Even male singers would really have a second thought in giving a try. I admire ur attitude. Kudos. btw I felt ‘Come one everybody’ was so soft unlike SPB’s command. His voice is unique of course. Thanks for covering this number in few hours of time. I give 5/5 for ur efforts, singing and attitude and of course, wont let it go off from my favorites’ collections. Thanks again for covering this and HAPPY BIRTH DAY KAMAL HASSAN SRINIVASAN!!!!!!!!!!!

As i have told you earlier, I totally admire your guts in doing such male solo covers! Aduvum this one is extra special to me because of the Kamal-SPB-MSV combination! This song doesn’t cease to enthrall us even 30 years after it was released! such is the power of classy music!

Ninaithale Inikkum is a movie I will never forget. I was a mere toddler when my uncle took me to watch this movie. Since then, whenever my family/ neighbours went to watch, I used to insist that they take me too. Appo pidiccha kamal/ cinema paitthiyam, innum vidalai! :)

Absolutely loved your voice in this song- deep, rich and engaging!

Yes i used to sing this one in the original scale but kattazhagu is low for me too. I feel that u can cover even a lower scale than what u have chosen.

I remember Hariharan singing “oh sajna” in front of Lata which she nonchalantly watched. But she was very happy to see “teri bindiya” sung in a beautifully improvised manner by Shankar. So, it is never an easy thing to hop genders. It is difficult and places unusual expectations. In that spirit, your audacity to attempt some of the established SPB numbers in muziboo is both unprecedented and very welcome.

This number of yours sounded like hearing some jazz or blues number in a bar. That bassy voice of yours gives that great feel. The “kattazagu” portion really deserves a special mention. SangathigaL @ SaathirangaL at 3:24 – was an added bonus from you !

Excellent expression, pronunciation, breath control and enunciation ! And goes to my favs !

You shaped your voice pretty well but I thought it was a controlled performance, given the nature of the song. Pitch of your voice could have been higher to bring out better dynamics and energy.

On the whole it was an excellent cover. Great versatality as ever from you!.
