Chinnan chiru kiliye - Maha... Lyrics & Chords
" கவிதை எழுதுபவன் கவியன்று. கவிதையே வாழ்க்கையாக உடையோன், வாழ்க்கையே கவிதையாகச் செய்தோன், அவனே கவி" – பாரதி
It is more than 75 years since this great poet left us. History has shown us that a few of his dreams have been realized. I am honored and gifted to sing his songs. One of the heart capturing song from “Maha Kavi Subramanya Bharathiyar”.
This song , I did two yrs ago and just wanna share with you people !

Sowmyaji…
It’s nice to see that you are proud of the rich culture & heritage of our Great Country and honouring the All-Time Great Thamizh Poet “Bharathiyar”. In fact, this is quite a welcome change from the usual “filmy music”.
Hats off to your good self & thanks a lot for sharing this.
GOD Bless !
Loving Best Wishes,

Soumya, the unplugged version is very nice! I would have liked it even more, if it had at least some sruthi. Check this link http://www.karnatik.com/shrutibox.shtml
Good job!!

The quote by Bharathi was awesome and so nice of you to have shared it with us……
BTW-I think this is Aasiriyappa ……typical endings in aa,ae,o etc :)

Sowmya … what a superlative performance of this classic!. Hats off for making me transfixed to your classical singing style and giving it piece by piece with relentless precision!. The thoroughness and expressiveness really impressed me and I have not heard this side of you before … or may be I have not cared to listen!. Five stars for this and this is of professional katcheri standard; also shows your extreme versatility as a singer. With the grounding and understanding you have, no wonder you reel off cine songs so quickly. The irony somehow is that the voice that renders such classy stuff is also your potential opponent … if you had a slightly more glamourous (not sure if this is the right word) voice, you would have gone places!. Life’s inadequacy is that it can be contorted!.
I could write a long review about this song as I really loved it Sowmya. The sruthi that you have sung it in gave a perspective of your true voice and was a treat!. The tone chosen on your sruthi box also complemented your voice well. The number of nuances you have given in this song is mind boggling and not at all easy to sing!. However, let me first get rid of the blemish at 0:56 which was like a ‘drishti’ or an errant gnome in the song. The dwarf tried to re-appear in places like 1:15 and 2:45 but were put away swiftly!.
Places that were too good and mesmerising were 2:54, 3:23-3:33, 3:45-3:55, and the scale change at 4:06-4:15 … many other places had very good sangathis that were seamlessly mined to perfection!. The confidence and clarity of delivery were top notch and I have not heard such high quality classical touches on this website … you are a rare and real versatile asset here for us to enjoy!.
One other notable thing; in well known songs such as these, when you render in a classical style like what you have done, you can make the diction your own as long as they are understood. I felt that this was to your advantage and you made it your own and was perfectly understandable!. Cine songs require a certain popularist diction for the song to come through with its glamour but not so in classical songs … this I consider one of the profound beauties of classical music.
This was …. a Class Act!.
~With a rhythm is born a song. From a pulsing heart is born music!.

I can see that you sang this difficult number very well. Though I never heard this before, but you sound a bit too nasal here. Maybe that’s how the original is. Good one.
