So finally this got premiered… My poor memory didn’t hint me about my words assuring to hunt down the track… I apologize… Something sounds odd still… I mean, when u enunciate ‘vaa, vaa’ and few other places nasality overtook your authentic tone… And few of the landing notes didn’t fall in place… My expectations for this monstrous composition are always high… Swaras were out of the world as per my ears and soul… Can’t really scrutinize with a magnifying glass… However felt the ‘aaa’ portions lacked precision and upon persevered rehearsals, you could have really mastered them… Oldies are always Goldies… A great relief to listen to this after a long time(after that ogreish performance by Alka) while songs doctored by technology are flooding the industry leaving the listeners clueless about the lyrics and tune… Personally feel, you are capable of doing better than this product… Hope you work on those deficiencies and balance the products hence-forth… Keep picking songs of this sort… All the best…

Meena, first of all I have to express my respect infront of your dare. This is not a easy one. I mean this is a really tough song. Each line of the song has got lot of expressions. and there are lot of tough curves where you can slip over the scale.

Kudos on pitching… You have done a great job in keeping the singing in sruthi. (very minor slips were there.) Some of the sangathis were not crisp, which is not a pointer :)
Also in lower notes 1:57 "azhakia", i felt you are unsure on notes. In higher ranges the notes were flowing(3:08) beautifully.
@1:18 there was an off.

Loved your rendition, Voice stands out. Have you tried chinna chinna asai?
Impressed completely.

Meena: What a lovely range. Tough song to attempt (esp the ending swaras and a lovely attempt at that). Liked the way you have modulated your voice for this song. The ‘vaa’, ’vaa’s, deva etc could be better. Liked it.

Stupendous attempt Meena. Am not sure if that’s the way u do between 4:39-4:41, looks like some liveliness is missing in those curves…. Loved the finishing part. Salute to u woman for such a bold attempt to cover this Janaki amma’s masterpiece. Hard work with perseverance will surely be rewarded. Many singers would not dare to touch this song !
Your rendition is awesome !
Recording, mixing etc. are secondary & singing comes first as I have been mentioning in many of my posts. It is also very easy to find fault in everyone’s rendition as no one would be 100% perfect.
My humble self is sorry to point out that, lately from some regular quarters in MUZIBOO, an unhealthy trend in finding some fault or other in renditions has arisen which creates a negative impact to aspiring singers even adversely affecting MUZIBOO’s atmosphere !
All of us are here to enjoy the singing of everyone & not just to find fault with regard to singing and judging technical things like recording, mixing etc.!
LOVED your rendition to the core !

Meena ….just so beautiful rendition….great flow in your singing, which only comes with a lot of hard work and breath control. Agree 100% with Govind sir, I dont care too much about the quality of the recording as long as the vocals are clearly audible,……singing comes first in my books and sound engineering is something which anyone can pick up with trial and error….goes to my favs……excellent !!!!
