This song has been ringing in my ears since this morning.I have heard this song way back in later 80’s when I was a kid.Then,today morning,somehow wanted to do some old song.This instantly struck me.Immediately,searched if there was a track for this one.Thank God!!!Found one in iniyathamizhosai!!.You are really missing something if you do not hear the original.It has all that melody in the world.Everytime I hear any old song I would literally be transported to a different world.I would like to thank you all and this wonderful platform at this point of time.Its been a pleasure being here,listening to many
pieces,posting songs,getting all those pointers,thoughts etc.
Needless to mention that it goes out to all those oldies lovers.Here goes the attempt guyz…Itz quite a tough song…Hope u like it!!!The track was not all that great but just managed to get with it.Let me

When people hear good music, it makes them homesick for something they never had, and never will have in life… The golden hits of Jikki & AMR are nigh to my family… At times, music disturbs us a lot… Is not it?? I used to listen to this song sung live by my maternal granny…. :-( I miss those heavenly days….
Do u have so many such surprises in stock?? You sang with Unnikrishnan; tried Kalpana’s kaaththaadi; then covered KSC’s song; and now Jikki’s evergreen hit…. It just transpires your hunger to accomplish something…. The track was so disturbing that it subjugated the beauty of ur singing… At times, unplugged versions appeal as intended than the mixed ones…. Nonetheless a valiant effort to cover a duet from AMR-Jikki single-handedly… Your adherence to Shruthi is commendable in this rendition… And my investigation for missed and off-notes proved me futile as I am not able to do it with this track… :-) Thanks for covering this song and reminding me of those days in my life… Vaazhga Valamudan…. Do I have to wait for ur consent to mark this as my favorite??

Meena one of my favs of AMR-Jikki. Sema pick. As everybody mentioned sema confidence level, very very negligible off notes, voice quality almost like Jikki. Innum neria plus than indha renditiona la. Way to go girl!

Truly a tough choice, that too a rare old song! Sounded like a remix version of the original :) Liked it! Such a lilting melody in Bageshree! The only comment I have is that the strength of voice at those intricate brigas seems very faint. You need to be more openthroated at those places alone. In these songs, there is no harm in giving that “azhuttham” to some places because it is meant to be a light classical number :)

@Adithi ka-Bageswari-Arputhamana ragam…Maalai thendral,moonlight,varudum katru song like this(original :P) aha!!What a treat it would be…it would at times be like very forceful to get more power upon the voice…just wanted to get it more natural…thats how I intended to get this way to make it more pleasant…No offense meant :P.All those sangathis sounded quite clear to my ears.And probably that echo effect has marred that clarity.And this encoding to 64 kbps sounds crappy…Could nt do anything much to it.you could still hear a better version in my blog…Thanks :)

By clarity, I did not mean audible…….For example , the sangathi at porvai “podum poarvai thannaale” needs to be with more “azhuttham”. What I mean to say is that while singing a yesteryears’ song, the sangathis are so different from the types that came later- not finding the right way to explain it. Maybe I can say that the old songs lack a kind of “falseness” in sangathis which you could see in many newer songs. That differenciation could have been clearer in your rendition. Of course, it is upto you to take it or leave it. I just said what I felt :)

lovely singing Meena, aptly soft at right places. And pitching was very beautiful. And I think Adithi was referring to the olden style of delivery, where even in long lines or tough sangathis, the singers never altered their voice amplitude or strength, but still managed to convey the emotion. Perhaps it was the style then. Still, liked your expressions too Meena… :)
