Hi All,
Hope everyone must be doing fine.Now,here I am back with another melody song sung by chitra ji originally.Similar to some of my previous recordings,I have just retained the original male portions sung by Srinivas ji.But,this time mixing was done by one of our muzibian friend,Sushane.He has had a lot of wok patching up the original male parts with the track.He has struggled a lot to bring out my voice texture very clearly.Thanks a ton,Sushane!!!
Special thanks to Vishnu,who got looped in intially for doing the male portions.But,unfortunately,we could not work it out as well as we thought due to these delay errors :(.We were left clueless.Hence,approached Sushane for patching up with the original.
Here it is for u all to appraise!!!

Meena! Arumayaana song pick…. Lyrics of this song were awesomely penned by Vairamuthu befitting the song sequence in the movie…. I could still remember how crazy I used to be when the songs of this movie got played in the channels…. And taking the mood and the intent of this song in the movie, I feel u should have sung with the required feel, colour and emotions…. Classical influence is pretty evident through-out the song which has subdued the feel of the song clouding the listeners….
Having said these, liked ur confidence traversing all the genres… keep up the good work…. A request – try kaNNaalaney if u could… A fav song from my fav movie does propel me to take this rendition to my favourites….

One of my fav songs. Very tough one too. Meena you have done really well in attempting this one. My ears are very much like a person with no music knowledge. so my perception is very diff. I felt you were not sure about the lyrics, i always felt you are singing with a doubt. And there were pitch issues in places. But all of these can be ignored. When i see over the overall result of your singing. It is a good one. I wont say very good one. It is a decent attempt. But im sure you can do better.

Wondering how missed this toughie and there you are! :D
Hmm…good singing. But for your calibre, you could do much much better. Sometimes when we sing a song which is crammed with so many sangathis, we may tend to go a bit overboard with them- perhaps that is what has happened here too. A little more selfdiscipline should solve that (easy to preach but so difficult to practice :P).
The feel aspect can definitely be a lot better……we can almost hear Chithra crying when she sings this song!
I think you must do a bit of homework on this song and come up with a fabulous version very soon. I know you can do it. All the best! :)

Meena – Sema pick. Most pointers noted above. As Aditi akka pointed out, you can feel that ‘cry’ feel in KSC’s voice. Andha feel than missing. I loved your diction in ths song. Ungaloda classical training nall theriyardhu.

I feel that you have done a very good job . I will never compare any singers with the original as everyone of us have own entity.

you put your classical base to good use… :)
Like already pointed out by many, some of the sangathis were different from the original, which normally does not matter much. Instead it gives the song some individuality.
But in this one case, your style of delivery has taken away some of the strong feel of the song. That was the only main point….
Maybe you could do this sometime again differently when you get a better K-track… :)

Meena, good song to attempt. Not very familiar with the original, so not in a position to comment on the liberties you may have taken with the ’sangathi’s. However,in the pallavi there were minor deviations from the raga scale which was a matter of concern.Your classical training should be employed to make the details more perfect.

But u must look after the feel in these types of songs
the abrupt end of the first line can be corrected.
1:08 to 1:12 scintillating…. the sangathis came very well in this part.
2:18 to 2:20 notes miss aguthu.
4:03 pitch problem…
Charanam parts r close to the original…
the ending sangathis must be carefully handled.
The music part sounds low i thnk thn ur voice

very good attempt……the carnatic parts were nice, but the most important aspect of this song…the feel was lacking a bit. very sad song and the feel could be a little better.
but since this is a difficult song….i think u have done pretty well.
the k track should have been a little louder.
