i have heard this one Smitha on ur blog….but forgot to comment there it seems……So I am going to take this oppurtunity and appreciate ur rendition of this song……singing wise start was fantastic……but then some first letters of each word were pitchy….seems like u were very close to the mic for both the high and low notes cos they are right after one another……also ill suggest u to mute the parts between the mukhdas and antaras……those hiss sounds are annoying to hear….Singing wise u r perfect as u know I am in love with ur voice…….just keep working a bit more on the recording basics……I sincerely believe that u r one of a star of Muziboo and with proper recording u will surely shine much brighter…….

Smitha …I have heard this before on your blog and I loved this rendition. This rendition has really done great justice to the original nashiley rendition by Ashaji. The one thing I greatly admire is open throat singing ….and you have sung this full blast….:) Yes and didnt I tell you earlier too ….Your voice has that Ashaji flavour……hope to hear more of these classics from you.

wonderful tonal quality! good breath control…superb expression! would like to share an anecdote behind this song… when Ashaji was asked about this song and memories related to this… she answered what SD Burman asked her to do… SD said, “…whisper in the initial lines raat akeli hai, and when the line jo bhi chahiye kahiye comes, imagine a bratty kid fooling around shouting in someone’s ears and doing Boooo”

Please do try the Kishore Kumar classic ‘Bhawre ki gunjan, ae mera dil’. Forget the movie, but has Randhir Kapoor(sigh) singing this song to Babita.

Would love to hear you take on the antaras in this one. You should just waltz through (pun intended, if you know the song)!
