Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya - C... Lyrics & Chords
I was watching a feature on Mughal-E-Azam on television and its been 50 yrs since the movie was first released (on Aug 5th 1960)!
It is said that this spectacular film by K.Asif was one of the highest grossing film of those times until the record was broken by Sholay. This song is one of the most popular compositions by Naushad Sahab and reminds us of the Golden Era and the beautiful Madhubala :-) Madhubala, who plays Anarkali dances in Emperor Akbar’s court and declares her love for Prince Salim, played by Dileep Kumar, through this song.
I was reading some trivia about the movie on IMDB and particularly found this interesting :-)
The lyrics of the song were written and re-written by the lyricist about a 100 times because Naushad wouldn’t approve it. And in those days of sound recording, editing and mixing, as there was no way to provide the reverberation of sound, Naushad had Lata Mangeshkar sing the song in a studio bathroom!
Needless to say, after watching the feature about this movie, couldn’t resist attempting this song! Thanks so much for the track, Paras di. Here goes my humble attempt at one of the greatest songs of all times.

Very good attempt at this classic, felt like Ashaji’s rendition of a Lataji song :-) All I can say that it takes guts to cover these classics ….yours was a brilliant attempt. Minor nit pick….expression could have been better ….i mean the dard in the rendition ….but singingwise superb ….goes to my favourite.

Harshan – When I chose to sing this song, didn’t realise it would be so tough! The breathing is difficult and every antara is different…it took me time to memorize the tune itself :-) Maybe that’s why u felt the lack of expression. Thanks a lot for favoriting.
