very nicely done Smitha….I expect a lot from your renditions :-) ….maybe that’s one of the reason I am not fully satisfied with this renditions. Start felt like you were reading lines and not fully feeling them. In the first “antra” you did a great job to bring all the right expressions but words at high notes were a little blurry. Need to work more on your high notes….You were exceptional on the low notes.

One thing that is good about your voice is it is free from tremolo which could introduce uncertainty. There are very minor pitching issues (e.g. cheeni at 0:47, ).

“dard jaata hai” lines are very well rendered. You have a very good open throated voice which expands in the higher notes (clearly your training shows). that gives a nice non-falsetto singing. I really love that.

One thing that I find in your voice’s volume level is its amazing uniformity. While this is nice in one way, it is bad in another since volume modulation is essential in singing. I am sure you can easily do that. Usually the reverse is not easy.

About the recording, I felt that the vocals were jarring a bit (held mic too close?) during the high notes. That’s all.

Very nice rendition smitha. Good voice control and expressions. sum places where you sustained like dekh le sounded good but cud have been little crisp to synch wit rhythm.Thats a very very minor issue though…

Hi Smitha, that was a nice rendition, but mixing could have been better? Voice sounds a little muffled. Also found a few diction issues (like ‘mein’ in ‘tujhmein’, ‘khwaab’….
As Murali said, some voice modulation will go a long way….

Sorry for delay in getting here – was away on travel.
This is one of you best uploads I feel. Singing was bold and high and low notes were done well. Only area of improvement I can think of is voice modulations (volume modulation like Murali pointed out). Overall this was really well done. Keep it up.

Very crisp rendition, and since the above 33 comments have already touched on nasality, recording etc, here’s a break on that front :)

You have a very clear voice, which has the same uniformity throughout. Although the latter is an adv, I would suggest that you “feel” the song when you sing it, this way your voice will automatically have the voice modulation that will make it shine, will sound fuller if you know what I mean.
