Rajesh-This is very different from your usual style of singing, which is more close to Yesudas Sir. Rahat is more into Chilla-kashi. But singing-wise, this was perfect… 5/5

Wah wah ….great singing guys….this is a tough song to attempt ….you guys just did great !!

Rajesh ….very nice singing …the alaaps were done brillantly. The only difference was that your throw was that of Dass attan….other than that it was very well done.

Smitha ….you were really very good ….I couldnt find any offnote in your rendition which stood out. You sang it comfortably without any kind of strain ….

Mixing wise, I felt Rajesh’s vocal had a lot of bass and was not equally balanced with your vocals.

5/5 from me ….keep it up !!

Hi Smitha!!!
Nice selection & clean effort…… Very good singing but felt their was a lil mismatch in mixing…… n the alaap could have been kept a bit in background with a lil more reverb……Donno the punch was missing in Rajesh Ji’s singing…… Compression was needed in Rajesh Ji’s voice to decrease bass which would have made it more closer to the actual pitch of Rahat Ji…. Your singing was very good & I liked more than Rajesh Ji’s in this one…… I liked the chorus effect that you have put in…… I think a note or two has been compromised from the original scale not sure though…… But this doesnot take anything away from this…… Very nice…. Keep it up….

Rajesh: as usual, your delivery of sangathis is amazing. But somehow thought the “punch” was lacking. Could have been wee bit crisper IMHO.
Swaras were brilliant!! :)
Smitha: sweet voice :) Few offs likhe in “aaghosh me lo”, but overall, nice rendition.

Good Effort guys….difficult song to cover and u guys managed it pretty well….

Rajesh – start was undecided but u managed well later on……i personally did not like the delayed words……u should’nt have sung it, rather should have used delay for better overall presentation….The connection was missing at places eg. 2nd stanza….
Aaalaaps are done well which is ur forte, but could find some off’s surprising in between……overall good vocal control in a tough song……

Smitha – u seem to be on the roll thesedays……great control as u were comfortable in this range……ur voice had a lot of body in this one but somehow I feel that overall connection in the song could have been better….the overlaps are done very well………thoda aur THEHRAAV at in the song could have done wonders….but overall a good attempt…

Overall ill rate it as a 4.5/5.0……Congratulations!

Rajesh – not sure if it was the mix or if it was to emote better, you sounded a bit subdued in the lines than your usual songs. btw in that short alaap at the start and in the swaras – you were no where near subdued :). Good job, overall!

Smitha – barring the minor offs, nice job! Liked the voice modulations.

Rajeshji – The swara’s and alaps were excellent in all sense. But you didn’t start the song in a convincing way. It was sounding like you are pausing. Even the first Bhol na halke was like you suddenly stumbled. But later you picked and the ending para you sang really beautifully. Just found one diction problem you are singing “Yeh” as “Eh”. These are all my humble views.

Good job guys. I think both of you sang well, but I felt this song was not a natural fit for Rajesh. His voice didnt flow as well as it normally does.

Smitha – singing was good, but i felt the energy level could have been a tad bit higher.

From a mix perspective, I see that you’ve started experimenting Smitha (chorus effect etc). Great job!! Smitha’s voice sounds a little sharp. Also you need to apply compression to the overall track, which will even out the highs n lows.
