Smitha, you were pretty good in rendering the song, expressions were great, felt the energy levels were a bit low…. remember the girl is singing about the way she feels for the first time in her life. And the way you sang “Hua Hai Pehli Baar” could have been better.

George, you were great man, there were no diction issues as far as I am concerned. You are getting better in Hindi renditions too…. way to go bro.

My views on this rendition:

Smitha: energy was low, dint match as the original….Shreya’s voice in this one has a lot of punch and smoothness…….was good singing overall but was more on the surface rather than getting into the song and feeling it……

George: i am not going to compare ur vocals with Lucky ali cos i dont think he is a singer……cos he cannot even record 3 lines in one take…….so u did way better than him……just felt lack of energy in ur parts too….i would say that it was a slightly thanda performance…….
ur first word of the song was not clear……its DIL GIRA….sounded like u sang YIL or something……smitha told me its Yun, but even if then, it dint sounded like DIL or YUN……some places like in the mukhda u need to stretch the notes for this song, like the last word aaaahistaaaaaa as in the original cos the sudden end leaves some music piece devoid of vocals…….2:23, KI TU JI RAHI HAI was off scale….dint get the curve in the notes there……

good attempt overalll……i love the overlapping parts at the start of every antara….u guys did great there

I am not too familiar with the song ….but liked your attempt. I can see the amount of work which has gone in to sing this long song. I liked your rendition ….you both sound very professional. I agree the mix should have projected your vocals more ….no offense sunny :-) The harmonies were done very well.

Am not familiar with the original. So it was like listening to some new original song. Great Job by both of u.
George, Great modulations. Chorus part was too gud . Your voice sounded different aptly for this song. Smitha, Ur expressions were nice, felt I wud have enjoyed more if smitha’s vocals cud have been a lil higher , that too some parts were sounding good. Good team work:)

Smitha : good smooth singing. you were always there in rhythm. but i felt the energy level was bit on the lower side… but u gave your own touch to the song, especially i liked the way u sung ‘hua yeh pehli baar’. Overall nice rendition.

Goerge : simply gr8 ! :) …… almost better then original…. and i say ‘almost’ cause i don’t want to compare ur rendition wid lucky ali’s. guess he w’d have sung this song in 100 parts… anyways, the mixing was excellent and singing was perfect… i don’t know whether the minor lapse at around 2:24 was cause of some recording anomaly or not? … keep up the good work bro

Smitha: U got feel right in this song, and i also felt u sang this quite passionately…u could sing with more energy considering this is a peppy number…i really liked some parts in pallavi, feel got captured better there.

George: U got the complete style and attitude needed for this song…i guess ur voice s better suited than lucky ali’s for this song :)i noticed one or two off pitch parts… harmony was gr8!!

First of all incredible mixing. You guys did good job to get the feel right most of the time. But some peppiness was missing here-n-there. Vocals by George were too good. Smitha, you did a very good job as well (could have been better for my liking, less passionate for such a romantic number). Felt minor pitching issues.

One of Vishal-shekhar’s, which I would say has stuck in my mind for while LOL

Smitha: Felt a little more softness in this rendition would have brought wonders to the feel of the song. No other major issues though. Good effort!!

George: Shows your range well, and good song pick for your tone. Mostly good vocals excepting a probable pitching issue at 2.23/24 (Ji RAHI hai). Also, at 2.18 when you start the stanza, something fishy about the way the notes progress, where as the 3rd line @ 2.26/27 which is essentially the same notes as the 1st line seemed totally fine :-)) Is it just me hearing that?

Thank you all for the feedback. Really appreciate it. As Smitha mentioned, Sunny mixed this for us. He doubled my vocals, panned it and introduced a slight delay between the doubled vocals. So at certain portions, the two tracks dont sync (especially when I introduce vibratos) and sound a little off. 2:23/24 is a prime example. There are many other examples throughout the track. Hope this clarifies some of the confusion.

George, u were mindblowing in this song. No issues from my side apart from one slip up at 2:24. Apart from that, I completely disagree with my better half’s views upstairs :) You were able to create the mood of the overall song very well….

Smitha, Way to go girl….I can sense u becoming a Pro very soon….ur effortless singing was very good and suited the song very aptly……love the way u sang, “hua yeh pehli baar”….the baaar was a killer at times……very nice….

Harmonies, mix and backing vocals were nice……great effort went in this song which is easily visible……
