When R D Burman asked Kishore da to sing this song, Kishore was a bit hesitant to sing it due to very high notes in the antras.
R D Burman told him that this song was also to be sung by Lata, so Kishore asked R D to 1st record Lata’s number. After listening to Lata’s rendition, this song was recorded in Kishore’s voice, and what a song it turned out to be.
Please listen to my song as complete package, as I have tried to sing it to the best of my abilities. I was not sure of touching the high notes properly; now you are the judge.

a very tough song to sing, i can vouch for the same……u did a great job with the high notes as compared to me in my rendition……i love the way u curbed the notes in between, making the stretch shorter which is comparably easy to sing to the original………
ill say i liked ur rendition, singing wise……mixing was not good at all……heard all sorts of noise in the background……

Hi Shailendar… You’ve done a good job on this. This definitely falls under you niche. Some of the landing notes (low notes) were slightly off.
The mixing could have been better, especially at the high notes where the notes sound distorted.
Overall a good job!

Adwait……thx mate for enjoying the song, and your appreciation….I tried to sing this song full throated and managed to touch the high notes, though not as I would have liked them….
AJ….I still am not fully satisfied with the final result……the pitch of voice sounds louder than music at times…… I don’t mix songs, but sing straight with the music, thus making a single track……Maybe there were some noise in the background.
Sree…….you said it……I also felt that in the 1st antra, although I touched the high notes, the landing was a little abrupt.

i would say that this song has suited your voice so well…some details were not perfect though and yah…there were some notes which were flat…but considering that the song is so tough….appreciate your effort….:)

Lovely! The opening humming sounded like Abhas Kumar Ganguly had come back.
There are a few minor things like your harkats in the antaras, but that is in no way taking away the emotion you have put in.
Any classical buff? This song, now as I hear it, sounds like ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein’ from ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’.
Same raag? If so, which one?

Wow…its my all time favorite raag….raag Shivaranjani…which falls in the sad romantic category :)….you have done a very decent job in this song….this raag does not have much variations so all the songs in this raag sound similar like …Dil ke jharonko se.(Bramhachari)…Tere Mere Beech Main.(Ek Duje Ke liye)…Tum Se Milke Na Jane Kyun (Mithun movie “Pyar Jukhta Nahin”)…Kahin Deep Jale Kahin Dil (Bees Saal Baad)……the beauty of RD is that he somehow managed to make this song sound a bit different…that was his genius……and you have done really a great job….khulke dil se gaya hain aap ne….i am sure there is definitely some mixing problems but its okay….maybe some time later you can upload this song again….but for me this is one of your best performances….keep it up!!

Very well attempted Shailender! Bad mixing has taken away some shine off your rendition. Almost all issues have been pointed out/discussed above, no point listing them here again! Bottom line is that its a very difficult song to render perfectly, let alone satisfactorily! A very talented and mature singer amongst us here, once told me, that even Kishoreda himself sounded strained while executing this number, which I now myself feel isn’t totally incorrect.
Bravo for trying it out! By our average standard, this was good rendition. 3.5/5 from me…:-)

YOur compression expander setting needs to be adjusted for the higher pitches of your song… also use gated efx on the tail for your high ends….YOu chose the LP version of this song too. YOure great… keep it up and yes music needs upgrading. The tablas are the main spotlight in this song…… cheers
