Songs from the movie “Anurodh”, starring Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Mehra and Simple Kapadia were a rage when it was released in 1977. Each and every song was so melodious, with the show led by the semi-classical “Aap Ke Anurodh Pe”, followed by the sad but beautiful “Jab Dard nahi Tha Seene Mein”.
The song presented here “Aate Jaate Khoobsurat” is a romantic song from the same movie and was a very popular number. Kishore Kumar was at his best in singing this song.
Recreating the same magic is always a difficult and challenging job, especially if you are singing songs of yesteryear’s icons. I have always loved this song for the lyrical value, beautiful singing and great melody. My attempt should be seen as an honest attempt.
I dedicate this song to my childhood friend, Sanjay Sharma who used to love it and would often hum it. I also dedicate to all Kishore Kumar’s fans here on Muziboo.
The k-track has an issue when the mukhda starts after opening lines and also, it has a vibrato effect in between.

Hi Shailender bhai…. one of my fav song we’ve always been listening…. you sang this gem nicely and especially liked your dialogues in it :)…… though you were bang on feel and expressions but I feel on higher notes you can still sing more openly…. also a word “Khoobsurat” needs proper diction. Anyhow enjoyed your lovely rendition.
