This song needs no introduction here – Mannipaaya – the soothing melody from Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya. Shreya’s voice is like honeydew and begs for forgiveness. Every time she sings mannipaaya… it sounds just about perfect that even a fiery person would understand. ARR rocks in his usual style! This sounds to be a genuine breakup song though it is pictured at the exact opposite moment in the film. It made more sense to play this song during the climax scene, when the couple part ways. Well, that was not the only annoying thing about this film, so I will leave it there :)

Setting backdrop to every song helps in emoting better, and this one requires abundance of feel…. Imagine the time you hurt someone. Just anyone. The evil in us just pops out in fullest glee. Whether you like it or not. There are times when you have no control over the wrong doings. On the contrary, you can limit yourself while doing good. I blame the design. So… have you ever wondered about the aftermath to such an evil doing? It takes time and healing. More than anything, courage to stand tall and accept your thoughts, deeds and decisions. Right so we all stumble at some point… every one of us. Apology is the place to start. Forgive yourself first before apologizing. So here goes… Mannipaaya….

Spell-bound with this performance of yours… Loved your prelude notes compassing those monumental gestures that everyone on earth wishes to rewrite for one or the other reason… I am not able to repress the stream of emotions pulsating this very moment and this is the best version(MHO) I have ever listened to, given the theme of the song and its induction in the movie… You have masterfully twined the exact feel and emotions mandated for this song and I felt, at a few places you have lost yourself in the bargain and the emotions overtook your singing… I hope you get my drift… And squaring with your genuine thoughts as in the preface, apologizing to someone does need courage and honesty… Emotions which stream out involuntarily are always genuine and we tend to camouflage our emotions for some definitive reasons which we only know… Whatever the reason of separation may be, we would see that ‘special’ person every now and then imposing us a painful joy… Not sure if I had inked what I felt exactly but I am highly impressed by this blistering performance… I could empathize with the soul singing this song and also I tender my unconditional apologies to those ‘special’ ones who graced my life… Thanks for sharing this… Good Luck!!!

Honestly lost for words at this point in time.Felt as if one was carried sailing with the breeze;the whole song with your voice carried thoughts from groves of memory, picking each one and asks one to contemplate and seek forgiveness or forgive….

Raj – agree with your pointers. I could have delivered few lines with better sangathis, singing clarity. I know that I do when I sing offline. I finished this song in couple of hours yesterday… I was in the mood to just get this song going, so then it was a tough bargain between feel and quality of singing. Some day I should masterfully deliver pristine notes with apt feel! Long way to go.
On a lighter note, the ‘special’ person to whom I owe this apology happened to be my neighbor. She seemed very unhappy this morning. Possibly because she didn’t have a peaceful afternoon nap yesterday due to my recording session! ;)
