Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaaye (Kalyug) Cover by Adwait
Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaaye (K... Lyrics & Chords
Recording and Uploading after a gap of 2 months. Yesterday I got a lovely track for an off beat song and a free week end to study, practice and record. So, here is my quick, humble, try to a terrific song based on Raag Pahadi. This is the first time I have attempted to sing in this high scale and hope I am bearable….
At the fag end, I have included some variation through a simplified alaap that I remembered from a different version heard somewhere. Also, took some more liberty to add murkies here and there.
I am new to this genre and am requesting positive suggestions and guidance for further improvement.
Original Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Composers: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan/ Faisal Rafi
Movie: Kalyug.

Kya baat hai, Adwait. At first listen, all I want to click is the goodies. I did enjoy the murkhi variations immensely. Wow at the range you’ve experimented with, and also for the great breath control.
Favs, so I will come back for a listen soon,

An unusual pick for someone to make his comeback… :) Listened to the original not for juxtaposing but to know it sounds… You have compassed almost all the readings calibrated in the scale by your voice… I mean, the voice dynamics you have displayed is just flabbergasting… And I could notice a few variations, pushing me to reckon this as another version of the original… Who knows?? To your surprise, I may cover this soon… :D This surely poses a challenge to the singers… Need I say that You have inspired me?? :) Happy to see that long status tag vanished… Good Luck!!!
Thanks,

Adwait Dada, First of all Welcome back. Very good attempt on this tough song. I loved it a lot.
I made Amu listen to this one and since she hs a classical background, she had a feedback of her own:) She says:) – In Raag Pahadi the manner in which the swaras are delivered are the shuddha madhyam (M) and the shuddha nishad. Likewise, komal dhaivat and komal nishad have their own subtle variations. The pancham and gandhars are strong and has to be sung the correct way. Also Raag pahadi should sound much like a folk tune rather than a “raag”. You were successful in getting the latter part correct but the technicalities of the raag were missing. High notes calibration could have been better to hit the correct note. Nevertheless, a good attempt. Liked the variations on Haii and Sona:)
Favs from Rahul:)

Grand reentry indeed Adwaitji! This song fits your voice to the T! Some of your harkats were mindblowing! However I did note fractional offnotes in some places, which I can attribute more to a sort of unstability in the voice due to lack of practice(maybe). It is a Herculean task to complete a song as this without losing the grandeur and you did just great! Especially those high notes……wah!
Kudos and to favs! :)

@ Raj: Welcome to my page. Thank you, for your encouraging f/b, liking and fav’. Now waiting for ur take on this :)
@ Harry Bro: True, it’s a very challenging song. Thanks a lot for ur lovely f/b and encouragement, dost!
@ Naqvi sahab: Welcome to my page. Yes, I enjoy Murkies and Haqats in the rendition:) I am happy to know you liked my take on this. Thanks a lot for the encouraging f/b.
@ AJ dada and Amu: Thanks for such a detailed write up on the Raga Pahadi. It’s an added value to my upload. However I have following observations :
1) A composer of a light or semi classical song takes inspiration from a raag and adhers to the raag structure for the most part of his composition. But the rules and technicalities of the raag are bent at places to bring some novel twist in the tune and so are not always stringently followed. Few of my original compositions (which await making BGM and vocals that I hope get done and share here in future) are based on / inspired by a particular raag and I have experienced how the things swing with the natural flow of creation of new tune with the lyrics….
There are other forums and forms of rendition and instrumental performances that stringently follows the rules of the raag to bring out it’s beauty in the purest form.
This composition does not fall in the latter category. In fact I have also uploaded another composition based on same raag tere bharose which has totally defferent treatment than this upload. Hope I have made the composer’s approach clear.
2) I am not clear about the comment on the high notes. Checked again on Harmonium and to me those sound correct. I might have slipped elsewhere, though:)
I am glad you liked my quick attempt to this toughie :) Thanks a lot for your time to pen a detailed f/b, liking and fav’ing this one.
@ Adithiji: Thank U!!! Point taken :)
@ Hemaji: Welcome to my page. Thanks a lot for nice f/b, liking and fav’ :)
@ Sarmi ji: Per wording, the most encouraging f/b, I must admit. Thanks a lot!
@ Latha Garu: Thanks for all the goodies. Great to hear from you on this :)
@ Tha: Welcome to my post. Glad you liked this one!
@ Ramesh Bhai: Thank you, Bhai!

Adwait,
It is a very brave attempt for the sheer reason that the song transgresses from low notes to high, and then very high notes in the antras….
Your attempt is praise worthy and brought a good feel to the song……especially liked the innovative piece at the end……
Keep rocking, buddy….
