Ramya …honestly not at all familiar with the original. Your expressions were very good …I guess its a sad song ….just felt some off notes ….this song really tests the breath control ….and you did a great job Ramya. Just concentrate on those offnotes ….otherwise its a very nice rendition.

Harshan Ji, this song speaks the longing of a grand mother to meet her grand daughter, but picturised after she meets her(which is happy time), and lyrics talk of the past events how she longed for her(which is sad), hope I did some justice. Glad u liked it. Will take care of pitching next time.

I haven’t heard the original version but your voice sounded very soothing to my senses. I could feel some trouble with the breathing rhythm at places. Also you seems to struggle at places with the landing notes. I am in the same boat as you. Keep working on it! You have a beautiful voice.

Hi Ramya,

I have only heard the Yesudas version of this song. I have not heard the Chitra version. You have sung it nicely and well done.

The track is not all that great and is a tad slow for singing this song … hence it is dragging a bit and some issues with expression are apparent because of the slower track. Try to increase the tempo of the track using software … that will help you.

As friends have noted above, singing and expression should be tighter. The mood of this song is neither happy nor sad … it is a Positive Reflective mood. When you reflect positively, there is brightness, clarity and joy in the heart and this should come through. This is not an easy expression to give in my opinion and it requires a certain dexterity to treat the words wisely. Experienced singers will know how to treat this with subtle variations.

On the whole very pleasing and I enjoyed listening to this Ilayaraja compostion after quite a while, thanks to you!.

Ramya : Your ending notes need more sustenance and renditions needs to be more clean in the swarasthanams. anga inga aDi vaangudhu notes. The version of Yesudas is more of asareeri version. Places like “theeNdave illai” “Oyum nEram” need to be a lot tighter.

Ramya: One of my most treasured songs of all times :) Undoubtedly, one of the few numbers that never fail to bring tears to my eyes.

Your voice fits this song perfectly. Track is pretty pathetic, but your voice more than makes up for that. Very beautifully done, although agree on the landing notes with Murali. Rest has already been said, so will not go into it.

BTW, indha pon maanai paarthukkondae— very aesthetically done.
