This song I am well aware of and the fact that you had slowed down the track and the way rendered was awesomely sweet. One of the rare songs that actually sounds better with a tad slower pace. You have brought a melodic touch to it both of you.

Jo: “Megam Onru Neril Ingu Vaazhtha Vandhadadee”….konnutey pa!. In fact the charanams were sung very beautifully both of you.

Ramya: “Kovilukkul yetri vaitha deepam allavo” … neeyum Konnutey!. Charanams once again were very good and what an awesome tune.

Pallavi both of you did not match the melodic delivery of the charanams. When I hear charanams and then pallavi, I want more in Pallavi from both.

Ramya … your diction can improve and one or two places la “Kavidhaigal” was not heard properly.

Awesomely sweet voices both of you. I was moved and raised a hair!. Enna tune pa and rhythm!. Azhagaa slow panni paadi pinniteenga!

Usually not emotional but this one did it for me somehow. Morning here and nothing in tummy speaking may be, with clear head!. He he.

Sowmya: When I heard the original I felt even SPB sung it in a lighter tone, even in the high notes (“megam onru neril ingu”) he has kept a softer tone. A jumping feel would take out the romantic feel of the song, IMHO. And thank you for your other pointers about the notes. I appreciate it.

Very melodious. However, I could not but notice that you have sung the word nEram/idhazOram with an upward curve from “nE” to “ram” (or in notation you sing as mppa ) whereas in the original it is either flat or downward bending (pppa or pppam). But that is just a nitpick. The entire song sounds very very nice in your voice.

Ramya:

Nice rendition. However, I feel you are compressing your voice. Open up a bit. Also, the way you sing "kaa"dhal kavaidhaigaL and the way Jo does has a subtle difference. The word “kaa” starts with a a lower volume and goes up slowly in Jo’s whereas yours lacks that modulation. In fact it is just one among the many places where modulation is absent. I picked that one up only as an example since it sounded flat. And once again some vowels could be sustained more: example : kalai aza"gO" to give a smoother rendition.

One of my favorite…When i was in the hostel(college), i use to play this everyday and my room mates at some stage gone mad:D,love this song!!

Both of u have sung very well….Some more energy will make it even better.Especially Ramya, in places like “kovilukkul yetri vaitha deepam allavo”…Overall beautiful rendition :)

@Ramya: Excellent Rendition. You have a great voice. As mentioned above by Bharathi a few places need attention (for ex – 1:09/1:10 and consistently @ the same place all over the song). Also, trying to sing softly, i think you suppressed your voice a little more than needed.

@Jo: Excellent…Excellent. I love your voice and i think it is perfect for such songs. You are too good with soft numbers and again an excellent one.

Jo and Ramya – Great job! Jo, so nice to hear your voice after a while. Loved the flow in your singing. Your voice is perfectly suited to this type of music. Not sure about diction.

Ramya – You’ve sung well too. However there was this uncertainty in your singing at certain points. Like others have suggested, you should have sung it in a more open throated confident fashion to give it that extra “oomph”

What a coincidence- have been planning to do this for I dunno how long. Hopefully will upload soon.
Very nice rendition! Enjoyed! Both of you somehow sound less crisp than the original in the way you render words/ lines. I mean its more “flowy” than the original- not necessarily a flaw, but just an observation :)
Overall, note precision could be better but I did really enjoy this one. Nice cover, guys!
