Happened to listen to some other song from the same movie at Dip’s place a few days back…. Awesome pick… And I was told that all the compositions of Raveendran Master are very hard to reproduce… And a brave attempt, this is….

Vichchu! Ur brihas have never failed to transport me to transience…. Thoroughly enjoyed ur brihas however the initial alaap was not smooth and soft… A few times’ rehearsals of the initial alaap would have made it finer….Rest all fine and ur vocals seem to have got suppressed in the mix… Make it brighter…. Just my insight… :-) And ur the control over the landing notes is the one I need to learn religiously from you, Vishnu Master!!! Nice rendition…

Ramya! Wait!! Lemme pinch myself and check if this is ur space…. Aah! it is!!! Welcome back after an uninformed hiatus… Nice to see a malayalam cover which is a test for the singing capablities…. An extra care to overcome those offs dropped would have made this perfect… Having said that all, this sounds melodious… Keep posting… Best wishes….

Awesome pick… absolutely beautiful song!

Vishnu- pleasant overall, but somehow felt the essence of the song was lost in the process somewhere… as in your sangathis were a little fleeting in many places ( like the initial aalaap, charanams-vridhabhangigal for instance). A little more azhutham would have been lovely, IMO :)

Ramya-Shanmukapriya is not an easy raagam to sing, and your effort is very commendable… Overall nice, but a little more refinement and some more azhutham in some typical usage of SP might have done wonders :)

Great selection! A wonderful song from an evergreen movie! Never get tired watchg this movie and listening to the lovely songs composed by the great Ravindran Maash!

Vichu – You have done a good job overall… However, the initial aalap went its own way all the way to Sharjah! :D Guess u dint practice it properly… This apart you did a good job…

Ramya – Good effort in singing this one… Only suggestion I would put forth is to avoid the use of the husky voice in such songs… It crept in at a few places in the song… Not sure if tht was cos ur voice stressed out singing… This apart good singing…

Vichu — very well done….but ur throat problem was evident especially in the start.

Ramya — this is by no means an easy song….maybe its easy compared to the other songs in this movie (naadaroopini and pramadavanam)….good job….again same thing with Vichu…sangathis have let u down a little (lack of clarity)

overall it was very nice but can be improved

I still remember those good old days when Raveendran & my humble self were close friends & co-singers in “Thunderbirds” Orchestra at Trivandrum for many years till the time he left for Chennai to become a playback singer.He used to be known as “Kulathuppuzha Ravi” during those days, Kulathuppuzha being his native place !
In films, he could sing only one duet composed by the Legend, Baburajji with Janaki Amma (due to the usual politics in film music field)and ultimately he became the famous Music Director, Raveendran. Had he continued singing in films, he would definitely have become a highly popular playback singer with his great voice, deep knowledge of classical music & expressive/versatile style of singing !
Sure, this is a nice choice of Ravi’s tough composition ! In fact, “Shanmughapriya” was one his favourite raagas !
Both of you have sung this reasonably well !
