Poornathrayeesam Aasraye - A Temple Hymn
Poornathrayeesam Aasraye - ... Lyrics & Chords
Yesterday was a ‘musical’ day with my friend Arun Rama Varma Thamburan , a talented upcoming sound engineer. Arun is a flutist and is the Alumni of prestigious Pune Film institute. He has worked on many short films and documentaries based out of London.
We recorded a Poornathrayeesan temple shloka, with a divine Idakka track created by Arun. Idakka is a percussion instrument used along with Thimila, Maddalam, Ilathalam and Kombu, these five together form the famous Pachavadyam (meaning 5 instruments)

Rajesh – iam very fond of the idakka…so you might get a biased feedback :). The idakka with your voice & singing is a very soothing combo. However, felt a nasal twang(the first bhakthisamsedhaye, the first 2 poornathreyeesan etc) in your singing at places. Will sound even better if you can work on that, i think. Rest of the rendition is great ,as usual

Rajesh Etta!
Good rendition. I don’t know much about idakka. But felt something amiss. You know right that feeling not 100%. Then there was a portion “theertha” the first time u sang it didn’t sound good. The next time u sang it it was better. I liked your style. Great voice too. Lovely recording. Kudos to Arun chettan and you :-)

Rajesh….
I was reminded of a song “Karpagavalli…” …I loved your rendition. I too felt there was a bit of a nasality in your voice … I also felt the background rhythm (Idakka) could be little more louder…
Overall an excellent creation…

Rajesh…its so Divine…well done…a few observations……
First time the sangathi in Siddaye could have been better…there was a lack of perfection…second time it was fine…Also poorna brahma roopinam fist time….i felt the phrase poorna could have been better…Anandabhairavi touch could have been more….
Btw. Arun is also a fried of mine too… We did our bachelors degree in the same college.Convey my regards to him.
Warm Regards,
Murali Ram

Rajesh:
I sensed quite some uncertainty in the opening two lines. Rest of the song was sung fine although I wonder why you have chosen to impart a tremolo effect in your voice. In my observation of your earlier renditions, your voice is free from tremolo issues. So it would be nice to keep the voice free of tremolo.
The start of the song did remind me of karpagavalli too.

The line poorna brahma is extremely well rendered.
