An ad lib song by Chitra Lyrics & Chords
This was pure poetry-I thought it would be more expressive to give a musical interpretation without rythm and percussions. In fact the orchestral support was minimal. After composing it I had only one singer in my mind to render it effectively-K.S.Chitra. She sang this beyond my expectations.
This is an ad lib song I composed-I dont know how many of you would like it. Give it a patient listening, though.
For those who have commented that they couldnt follow the lyrics in spite of enjoying the music let me post the summary of each movement here:
A FEW WORDS OF LOVE….stanza 1: The golden bird which dropped down a quill from its feather said-take this!
The ‘kadali’ plant offering me its fruits said, take its colours!
A Bhurja tree said, here’s a piece of my tender bark-take it!
stanza 2: When I asked, ‘Tell me, now what should I write for whom?
An answer came:’ Scribble a few words of love for us!!’
Stanza 3: Even the last bird brought down by someone’s arrow fell dying in my heart; The spot where the kadali plant stood was a lost memory; The dear Bhurja tree fell to dust long back…….
Stanza 4: Where is my golden quill, ink and scroll?
Now what should I scribble and for whom?
An answer found me from somewhere-
Regain everything through your words of love!

infact i would like to thank you, rajivji for not giving much instrumental support to this beautiful poem……chitraji’s voice is enough and enough for this….if it were supported by so much orchestration it would have spoiled the beauty of it…….!!!!!!

That was absolutely beautiful Rajeev. Immensely enjoyed this composition. I have listened to a lot of songs by KSC, and this probably is one of her very few songs which is at a lower scale where I just love the way her voice sounds. The range she sings at usually is far higher atleast as far as I remember.
Just an amazing voice… but then I think it’s not necessary to mention that here :)
Don’t think I am qualified to rate this rendition, but I sure am favouring it!

hey rajeev, beautiful song :) i couldnt understand most of it… but enjoyed the whole song :) chitra’s voice is pure silk :) the song follows a very soothing scale which isnt very typical of chitra’s other songs :) which is also a very unique aspect of this song :) goes straight to my faves :)

Its true that I didnt understand the meaning by the language however I could get the message by your explanation on ‘the few words of love’.
