It is very easy for a well toned singer like you to overdo the sangathis and lose that touch but you capture the mood so well ! A great example of a simple singing and a great output ! Semma song macchi, and uthara you guys have complemented each other throughout the song – this is the first time im listening to you and you’re wonderful and made my listening experience a more enriched one esp. when the portions you say ‘Vaakurimai thandha….’,‘iLLaram iPPadi…’ was out of the world.

Getting back to you Raj, unnai paathi enna solla – sangathi specialist as sugu rightly calls you – ‘kadaiye’, ‘agaamBHaaVam……sadiyiNaal’ – the ones which i relished.

Appuram naan solli kodutha maadiri ‘Nee’ paadi irukke, adhe maadiri nee sollikudutha maadiri ‘Naan’ comment pannitein… deal okay vaa?

I’ve come across people who impress me many times, but very rarely come across people who impress me each time. You are always in my good books as an inspirational singer. Looks like u’ve been into exploration of oldies. As everyone does, I too used to burst out with effervescence when I come to know of Raj’s pick of A.M. Raja & PBS’ songs. Am really glad that there is a group in every generation that exults at such genre of songs. Though PBS has got very few songs to his account, I wish all his songs be covered in Muziboo…. Uthra ji, the nuances you attempted forced me into exhilaration. Try such songs in future too, as you could go on and on and there can be no alternative tranquiliser. Brilliant team effort guys….

Seeing a comment in one of Raj’s posts, I had approached him to do a 50s duet and he readily agreed and chose this song. It is a beautiful song and as Raj pointed out, it was tough (for me) to capture certain nuances as it is not as simple as it sounds.

Wow….this ia actually on my wishlist since sometime now :)…Coming to ur singing,both of u have done an awesome job.Some of the sangathis were crispy but some of it never fell in the right places…as u may know….even those cud ve been well captured for a perfect rendition…Also the clarity of the wordings like "sithandadhukidam"etc n some places requires more clarity and flat notes at some places.nonetheless gr8 singing!!!!

Very well done Raj even Uthra too…. One of my fav. songs. As you have rightly said AMR is such a fabulous MD of 50s. He is a melody king and a divine singer. Being a music director himself he knew what to bring out while singing. That is how all his songs become super duper hits.

Infact, Illayaraja used to adore him. He named himself as Illyaraja after this legend. According to IR, AMR is a Periyaraja.
