Fellow Muzibians!
This song was in my wish list for a long time, at least for a decade now. One of the songs which is so special to me. My grandfather liked this very much and he was the disciple of Shri Chittoor Subramaniam Pillai, one of the famous vocalist then. There are various other reasons which intrigued me to cover this song. But public public. So I have to keep my mouth zipped. And about this cover, Ramya has sent her voice file almost 45 days back. Due to various unavoidable things, I couldn’t complete the voice file of mine. Of course, reasoning out would no way help us reach greater heights. I would admit that I am lazybones. Am learning many things from Muziboo. Most of them were alien to me all these days. The most wonderful aspect is that people across the globe getting connected through this portal and collaborating on a common mission, I mean the renditions here. I am skeptic in general. So your comments and pointers have had a complete analysis in my mind and accordingly imbibed or harped again in my mind to imbibe. Anyways thanks for your feedback and I am having jesting time with many muzibians here and jousting time with the recording and mixing and with few dear ones as well. As I used to say, English is a very tricky language and at times scripts may lead to ambiguity and the comments at times are wrongly perceived by many here and by myself as well. In fact, music cleans off the rustiness sedimented in few minds(unknowingly) and pampers the souls which crave for peace. We are united here by Music and we should be proud to have got united. I may sound silly as you know these, as most of the people here are tenured for a long time in Muziboo and they know each other better and have a clear state of mind in perceiving and accepting the feedback. Last but not least. If at all my comments were unprofessional or unethical at any point in time all these days, I sincerely regret and apologise as they were not intended to hurt any soul which has a strong bondage with music(as we are in Muziboo).
This song has been recorded in a better recording environment with a sore throat since the recording set-up was free for a day to be used and I have taken care of the mixing myself as I need to learn it minding others’ precious times. Hope u would like it. The Track is not so good but managed to record with it. May God bless you all

Finally, able to hear both your real voices :P thanks to mixing. That being said though, Ramya’s voice was a tad too sharper, maybe a little more base might help.

Raj, Excellent work man! For the first time I am listening to your crystal clear voice.
Ramya, What a voice you have…. Amazing! Your voice actually distracted me from focusing on the technical aspects. So I listened to it the second time. You were kinda running at some places in the charanam (beginning lines). I don’t know whether this is an alignment problem from the mixing. Also the gain in your vocals track was a little high.
Overall, I enjoyed this very much and it was so refreshing! :)

The subtle sangathis were enjoyable. This song demands a lot of breath control and not an easy one to sing. Good one. Liked the clarity of words. I hope you’d take this comment as constructive criticism – when you sing uruvam… the “m” would sound better if sung with the lips closed, IMO.
Ramya:
You have a sweet voice. I felt that the pitch could have been lowered a bit but may not have been possible because of a duet. Enjoyed listening to it.

Very nice rendition Raj and Ramya. One of IR’s innumerable Keeravani based songs. Raj, nice to hear a clear recording of your voice. Expressions were very nice. Ramya, you have done a nice job too. The last line of charanam1 seemed rushed for some reason – I suspect the track has some timing issues. Keep it up guys.

Yes Raj. Kumar is right. Only IR can bring this kind of tune from this popular raagam Keeravani, which is being used extensively in film music. Eventhough he uses the same raagam he brings out the tune which sounds always fresh and surprises everyone. His search is amazing & God’s gift.
Raj and Ramya your song pick is very good and very well rendered too. Nice feel and expression. Raj, I like the place where you sing “kaalamellam unnai naan sumappene….”.
