Lavanya – very nice singing, and your sharper tone gave the song a different picture, wherein people are typically used to BJ’s huskier tone…
Your classical training is well reflected… :)

Raj – nee innoru dharava ‘enakku classical theriyala’nu varuthama irukku’nu sonna, enakku vara kovathukku enna pannuven’nu theriyadhu!! And why do you not attempt other Unni songs? your voice suits so well! enna eppo pathalum SPB/PBS?

A few nitpicks -
Lavanya, your take on a few syllables were more flowy, and slightly less in the ‘azhuttham’ in the uccharippu….sorry for my microscopic comment, but I like this song a lot… :) so heartfelt…
Raj, I already thitti’fied you for my biggest complaint offline….so won’t repeat the whole lot here :). But truly, some more work in reducing the tempo to match the original would have increased the beauty of both your rendition manifold…

Hi Raj and Lavanya,

One word summarises this rendition. Sweet!.
But where is the rich sauce!?.
I was left wanting to be honest guys as I do have high expectations of this guy called Raj!.
You kept feeding me spoon after spoon of sugar which was …. hard to eat just on its own!. Wanted the dragging cocoa and other flavours to infuse my musical palate!.

But first hats off for a nice rendition by both on an arguably tough song. You guys did well in your rendering and in fact both your voices are well suited in terms of its timbre and callibre … a good match indeed with the same level of mutual sweetness that is too goody goody!. :-) I mean that as a genuine compliment!.

The expression was a bit snappy from both of you and very up to the point. This is the part that was missing for me … you need to drag out this song and talk yourself into it like telling a story. I could not understand some of the words sung by Lavanya actually … clarity lacked a bit although she carried the song well. And Raj … you should let go more with more boldness, drag and tease of words. Volume variation is important to bring about these expressions … it’s like the bellows of the harmonium … sometimes soft, sometimes medium, sometimes hard … when a harmonium can talk why can’t we!?. Hope you get my point.

Track was not great too so may be this did not bring out the best in your feelings. 2:29 scale change sounded a bit odd in the track with the bass notes not in sync with the tune. Also at 4:30 Raj, could have been better.

A very sweet rendition and I did enjoy it.
You guys got very mellow voices, but please keep your voices a bit naughty too!. hehe.
