ahaa Raj thambi… at last it has arrived…. worth the wait I must say… what a rendition… it was not entirely surprising to me , because I had long back envisioned in my mind how it will sound in your voice… and that’s the reason I had been pestering you to try this song for several months now… Thambi you have not disappointed me… a superb delivery of a superb song… in my opinion the best SPB song ever… created by that master melody maker MSV… I also believe this is one of your best efforts and most challenging too right?

The opening take was just great and so was the sangadi in the pallavi ending… This is one song which nobody dares to try in a show or stage. SPB mentioned in a TV show how much he was awed by the difficult sangadis which MSV effortlessly sang out while teaching him the song… Kudos to you Raj… and most of all thanks for making my day… I have already heard it thrice before I could pull myself together to write this comment… most likely I will be listening to it many more times…

U know I was a bit confused last week n was into introspection…. Life is at many times confusing until we think we are cleared of it…. I had been watching few Rajni-Kamal movies on a daily basis around 3 months back…. That was the first time I watched this movie ‘Avargal’…. Surprised to know tat Sujatha had so much of courage to play this role as her role is the main one around which Rajni n Kamal revolve around…. I still remember Rajni’s negative views about few women in tat role…. Oh wat a man Balachander is!!! KB knows that only Kamal n Rajni has the guts to act in such documentary movies and make it a blockburster…. ‘AvaL Appadithaan’ is my all-time favorite of Rajni-Kamal combo; try some thathuva paadal from it soon…… There was no where I put on a mouse-like face while hearing ur rendition. I completely enjoyed this as much as the original as I was while hearing the song in the movie…. Sangathis are sung stupendously……. Being an ardent fan of ‘Sema thondai SPB’, I am 100% satisfied with ur attempt…. Gr8ly delighted to find that u r on the right track now…. Raj….absolutely a tough song to render and kudos for the great attempt. Hoped the track had continuity….anyways its the singing that matters. Menmai kandal at 1:16 and Poojai Saivaal 2:08 sounded different, and at 1:54 not sure if it was a k-track issue. Also Murugan vanthaan sangathee could have been done better. Hope you don’t mind these pointers. Always a delight to hear your renditions. regards, Hari.

SPB himself will vouch for it.

Your singing is right up in the professional league. I have not heard many reproduce SPB’s sangathis with such a precision.

My only suggestion is that now that you have covered some of the most difficult songs of SPB you should try some different styles like YEsudas and TMS also. That will give you a broad spectrum of exposure.
