Alaap in Yaman - Balachandra Prabhu

I have listened to this Alaap several times during my morning meditation. I had always imagined the singer to be an aged, mature person singing with such poise and deep rich voice, conjuring images of creativity, rather than pathos which one finds in most alaaps. As I visited this page today again, it turned out that Balachandra Prabhu is only 22, a student at that. I’m amazed by his talent to sing such a subtle raag with such expertise. I’m sure he will do very well in his future endeavours in music.
