Happy Navarathri, Uthra! Haven’t heard this – Revathi ragam, is it? Beautiful singing, loved the gamakam at Gaana Vinodini. What pitch do you sing Carnatic in – you have such a high scale!

Uthra!!! ithu thaan sumaaraa paadi irukkarathaa?? Never heard Nithyasri’s version of this… I have not had the chance to listen to any of the Krithis in her voice… :) Of late, I see my interest inclined to classical numbers and devotional realm… Wish someday, I also start preparing instant black coffee{decoction – thambura drone; your voice – sugar crystals} like you… This traditional filter coffee is time consuming…{meant mixing + gimmicks – milk; decoction – track; voice/singing – sugar(not sure)}. Thanks for sharing and Happy Nava raaththiri to you… :)
Thanks,

Hello Uthra… Happy Navrathi! never heard this song before… The moment I saw the title Janani… I thought it was Janani Sivakamini… :) Nice kriti it is and you have done it so well and beautiful :) ~MUSIC IS WHATFEELINGSSOUNDLIKE~
Uthra……Good to hear your voice after a long time…. Very impressive rendition, though not familiar with the original or classical sense… Like it a lot !! And….a HAPPYNAVARATHRI TO YOU !!

I hear more control on your voice and things falling into place much better compared to some of your songs previously that I have had the pleasure of listening to!. You are capping your throat for better rendering and this certainly sounded more focussed.
Noted that your throat is currently not totally ok … (sounded like you have a bit of a sore throat). You managed pretty well with that.
Kudos and keep it going … you are sounding much better!.

Sudha: Thank you. Happy Navaratri to you too. It is revathy ragam. Do check out the youtube version that Latha has posted. I had learnt this watching yet another post of Nithyashree.
Latha: yes, I followed Nithyashree’s version. Glad you liked it. Thank you for posting that link. It was lovely – liked the pace in this version.
Meera: Thank you. Happy Navaratri.
Raj: Thank you. Your analogy was enjoyable but adhellam onnum illa. Kasappu coffee dhaan :))
Kavi: Thanks. There are some low notes when Janani starts and reducing the pitch would have made it difficult for me to sing those notes. Thanks for your honest comment.
Sukumar: Thank you. Happy navaratri.
Chandrakant: Welcome and thank you.
Kavitha: Thank you. Have not heard the other kriti. Please sing and post it.
Anbu: Thank you.
Theagaraj ayya: parattum thiranum, parattum manamum serndhu ulladhu ungalidam. Kettu rasithadharkku mikka nandri.
Kala chechi: Thank you.
Arvind: Thank you. I always look forward to your comments and the encouraging pointers. I did not have a sore throat when I sang this but I have not been singing much lately so I think it is rusty.
Uthra….no technical comment I can offer on this rendition….just felt it so divine and serene….you sound beautiful in those high registers……you should attempt more songs which challenges your higher registers….loved it.

Uthra,
Nice one.
The depth in your voice might have come across better with a reduced pitch-nu thonaradhu. But, it could just be my personal preference.
Happy Dussera.
