Wow!!! I never expected such a response that too in such a short time! I am really humbled by your comments. This would always trigger me to keep on singing even in those times of lows which I have been going through in my life right now.
Rosh: I first tried this with the track from D.J Anil which I got from the net. But if you listen to it carefully you would see that at many critical parts the chords are all wrong. This completely ruins the song and support that you get from the backing track. In some tracks the instrument tones are very unprofessional which again spois the song. Hence I used the original track with vocals subdued only at the parts of “Javed Ali’s” Voice. This method of course has the drawback of subduing the lows including the rhythm parts esp the base drum beats. I really really wish I could have an amazing karaoke for this some where. But this is the best I can do right now. I am trying to see the possibility of cutting a pattern of the beats from somewhere in the song where there is nothing prominent in the background and repeat it at the places where the rhythm is subdued. I will do it only if it sounds good. I have done it before for some songs.
Sudeip: Sonu has sung the humming parts. The main song has been sung by Javed Ali, whom ARR is using a lot now a days.I use Nuendo for recording my tracks. The voice suppression was done using “Vogone” voice eliminator. I tweaked the frequencies for the best sounding output. Still this is the best you can get.
I believe that Sonu’s humming parts are an integral part of the track and should not be replaced with any other voice. It’s the life of the track!! The contrast in the voices between Sonu and Javed adds to the beauty of the song. If Javed would have sung the humming, the song would not have been so magical as it sounds now. No wonder why ARR has used Sonu so sparingly in this song. Not many reputed singers would have agreed for such an experiment where the credit finally goes to the main singer. It’s ony because it’s an ARR song that singer’s agree:)In this song though Sonu has sung only the humming parts, it’s as important as the main parts which Javed has sung.
I believe that this is a recording studio song. I have still not found any Music troops in Kerala attempting this song. With technology overpowering raw singing, every song is becoming more and more a technician’s hand work. You can never reproduce such songs on stage live with the same effect as we hear the original recording. Though the song seems simple to hear, it’s a very tough song to sing as it has very high pitch, subtle harkaths and not many places to take off your breath too :) But with time, effort, patience, dedication and application we all can do it!
Sudeip, I will post a 192KHZ version on my Blog soon for download and will add the rhythm pattern if I succeed :)

Pradeep – Just came back to see your response :-) BTW, you mentioned that Sonu agreed to do the humming part. This may be an incorrect statement. I heard Sonu mention in an interview that originally he had rendered the entire song with the humming. However the lyrics of the songs were changed at the last moment. Sonu Nigam wasn’t available to resing this again due to some tour he was on. ARR decided to go for Javed Ali who had already rendered some of his compositions (and also I feel he sounds close to Sonu in certain aspects) As a gesture of respect to Sonu ARR decided to keep Sonu’s humming since that remained unaffected by the lyrics. BTW this is all from a newspaper article carrying Sonu Nigams interview.

Pradip ji……Congrats first for upgrading to a PRO……cos that means u r going to be here for a long time and we will be blessed to hear u again and again……This mix could easily pass as the original……thoda sa vocal volumes can be increased, just a tab (by abt 1-2db or so)….then vocals will be tad above the track……will be mesmerizing then……

Hi Pradip, That was ans excellent rendtion to a very high pitched number. While the antaras were close to flawless but the beginning could be a little better. Also, I thought if you had lowered the pitch a little, would be little less strenuous.

To be honest. I am dumbfounded. I wouldn’t compare this song to the original but would do it vice versa. Please don’t think this is an exaggerated comment. You have really sung this song in its true essence. I feel even the composer would appreciate your effort. I am really awe inspired by your selection of songs and dedication you put into to get a final version that always leaves the audience speechless. Once again I say it was hard to believe it was a cover version. I heard above one person saying that Sonu sang this song. Then when lyrics changed Javed Ali came to picture. I feel ARR should have given it to you in the first place :-)
