Ente Kadinjool Pranaya Kadhayile Penkodi....Ulkkadal-O.N.V-M.B Sreenivasan-Yesudas
Ente Kadinjool Pranaya Kadh... Lyrics & Chords
Wanted to post something unique and yet simple….This is it. Have never posted my voice without any Karaoke track yet. This is something which can stand just with the simple drone of a Tanpura. This can be sung and felt……….deep…….without the need of any orchestra to support your voice. The voice can carry it all. Such is the depth of the words and the power of the composition. The O.N.V-M.B.S combination was always unique, magical and will pass the test of time……till music is alive and it’s still music!
No retakes……no punch in’s or outs……here is it as simple as it can be……my voice and the Tanpura….
Song: Ente Kadinjool
Film: Ulkkadal
Singer: Dr. K.J Yesudas
Music: M.B Sreenivasan
Lyrics: O.N.V Kurup
Raga: Simhendramadhyamam

Wonderful choice, Pradip and beautifully presented. Awed at the single take. Your voice and the depth of the song came through very well. Kudos! 5, of course. Its a pity that songs of these days dont move us the way those do.
PS: It will be really great if you can bring out more of those lovely songs here – with track or not! Though i havent checked if you have sung already – sundari, nin thumbu ketiyita (shaalini ente koootukari), if you are also fond of the song ?

Ajeesh, Anil, Suresh: thanks a lot.
Ravinder: Yes, we need not know the language of some songs….the language of love and that of music transcends everything else!
Radhika: This has been within me…. the song, words….through my College days. Sundari, also is one such song. Definitely I will sing it sometime :)
Thank you so much.

pradipji,
its really beautiful………songs like this infact doesn’t need any bgm!! i have always felt more freedom to sing such songs without bgm……because then we can bring out full feel into it since we are not constrained to any beats, i think…………….
you have chosen such a wonderful song….special thanks for that…… :)
beautifully rendered also……………………
(but at some places i felt little bit of classical touch…….not a big deal……)
just one little mistake i would like to point out :
its “jalakreeda” not “dha” please listen to it again and you will understand what i mean…
thanks a lot for this evergreen song……
may god bless you

Pradip Ettan,
This song definitely didn’t need much of a BGM. The tanpura and your voice was good. I liked the ambience you created. The classical touch was to my liking :). Also I didn’t find issues with Jalakreeda. Singing wise….second time niswasam ennu paadiyapol it didn’t come out well as the first time. But it was a perfect rendition. Only thing that let me down was the way you said the initial lines, it didn’t reach out well. But when you said the lines again in the middle it was wonderful. I had heard this song long back. Thank you for bringing back good old memories. I am at Guruvayur now relaxing at my home. What a beautiful song to enjoy in these rain filled days :)

Truly said MUSIC is the language of LOVE:)-
You always sing to my heart’s delight
Fill my heart with joy and pleasure
You make my strenuous life leisure
Your voice is graceful and bright
Your voice is the best in the town
It makes me laugh like a clown
Your music never makes me frown
It makes my soul to drown

Meena: Thank you for the observations. I did sing it as “jalakreeda”, but somehow it felt as “jalakreedHa”. Hence I have corrected it. Regarding the classical touch, obviously it is a classical song in “sinhendramadhyamam” and has been originally sung with strong classical touch. The song does not have a life in being light.
Rahul: I agree that the beginning uttering of lines could have been more convincing. I have re rendered that part. Regarding the 2nd time of “Nishwasa” I think you are wrong as it is a classical sangathi which is originally sung as such (hear the original and you will know). The first “Nishwasa” is simple. The second one with sangathi is obviously different from the first one :)
Priya: Thank you for your continued support and encouraging words.
Rashmi: Thanks….Hope you are ready for “Gopangane” :)

I love when someone sings unplugged and its a sheer bliss when someone like you sings with divine colour. Really sounds awesome. Best of yourself. Pls do give us more such unplugged numbers. I dont wish to take much time in writing. Rather would listen to this repeated. Thanks again. I endorse my presence in your space with a 5/5 and using this chance to mark this as my favourite.

Pradip Etta,
Thanks for rendering again the initial portion. This one was more convincing….I had understood that both the niswasaa were different sangathi wise….But felt that it was not smooth flow….never mind….:)

Thanks for sharing this Pradip. Once in a while I love to listen to songs like this which are simple and mesmerizing! The origin of music should have been very simple like this song. Nowadays, we all try to add complications to make it richer with modern orchestration techniques which sometimes makes the noise to have significant proportion in the music! I think its a cycle and the trend will repeat…… I strongly believe one fine day a guy singing with a primitive home built flute will win the hearts of billions……
