Hi,
I’ve been trying to get info on how to copyright our material. I visited the IPRS website, but it wan’t too helpful. If anybody knows how to go about it, please share the info.
1. Searching on Google led to forms at LawGuru.com – anybody try stuff like this?
2. Another useful post giving contacts to Indian lawyers .
3. A Google sponsored link said “Get Expert Advice on All kind of Copyright Issues IPR Secure (India), M-09810602266”
4. But coming back to the real question: Do people actually register their copyrights? I thought if you just put a copyright© year blah blah, that’s enough?
2 b honest, i m also tryin 2 figure out the mechanism, nitty gritties and implications.
this wud b a good start i guess

@Vikram: Applying a CC license is very simple (I have done it for my own book), please see http://wiki.creativecommons.org/FAQ#How_does_a_Creative_Commons_license_operate.3F
Here is a long handbook which has some forms for obtaining copyrights too (Appendix-I)
http://copyright.gov.in/handbook.htm
The fees listed (If i understood properly) is
Literary, Dramatic, Musical or Artistic work Rs. 50/- per work
Do check this out and if you get a copyright this way, do let us know here !
