what make melody?

The mood of the song. Last but not the least the music director’s mood. The situation of the song if for a movie. there r other factors too but the previous ones which i have mentioned seem more important to me. Lekin agar kaam karna hai to mood ka kya karna. then u have to make a mood or develop THE mood to create something. Sometimes a melody may come by itself sometimes u have to make sometimes u try to make but nothing will come. That time u shud give ur heart and mind some rest. Coz if u really want to perform better take a deviation. do something else. Take a rest from the work u have been doing. When u start u will start afresh. Try it.

um.. is ur question.. “what (in my opinion) should influence?” or “what does influence?”

cuz there are a bunch of music directors who i think go into a “production factory” mode.. where they are tryin 2 churn out music in large numbers.. for a living.
eg.
a r rehman.. (by his own confession, in some interview) had gotten into that mode of working. he had 2 bring himself out of it apparently, look for more time. (i m hopin my memory serves me right)
