How to Evaluate Original Composition ?

WeLL i guEss it really depends on certain things,style,i mean if u r really looking for music or like most ppl do sumthing 4 a long drive just u knw on the background,but well i really look 4 innovation,out of the box thing,,but bassically i am a firm believer of skills & techniques,i dont believe in the World feel,technique is the feel,it is the expression,i mean if there is a vocal song just completely simple & with no expression it wont feel right.Well i guess i am making a electure of a simple thing well i look 4 technique & expressions….

Actually speaking, theres no way that someone else can judge others composition.. Well people may be difrnt, and they like it to be in their own way..Like if i am a commercial musician, i will more chck the song in a commercial way..If i am alone or else sad, i wld like a melodious composition. So i think its just about how an individual thinks. So cant compare it with anyone..Composition, arrangement, lyrics, sound quality and Singing make it another way to judge sumting..For me if the sound quality is not gr8, i will be a bit deviated, for someone even if the song is gud, but the arrangement and the tones and the vocals are not gud, they wont take it as good..And another person, with all good but bad lyrics will even make difference for him/her.. So it entirely depends on wat perspective we are looking at the song.. Its noting like good bad..Why we like most of Rehman/Ismail darbar content, because it 70% perfect in terms of sounding, lyrics, singing, arrangement and all..i believe, in any field, no one can be 100%..But atleast 60 to 70 percent is the thing, which can make people delighted and think, its good or excellent..Everyone has a sleeping music mind inside, so never know in wat way it can come up…

Well i guess u r right @ sunny,but i think there is another thing tht,we have seen songs which r really crap in all the ways mixing arrangement & stuff,but its a hit specially in Pak ind,The reason is tht becoz ppl here r mostly illetrate specially musician,they dont knw music,On the other hand Westerns have their ears tuned well they knw wat a gud overall song sounds like,so unintentionally they r judging a song,so i guess tht;s why they have perfection…...............ANyways tht;s just my thinking..

Ya, see the thing wat u said is alright, some crap songs are even liked, but i dnt think, its the musicians who like those kinda songs..Ya i do believe, exceptions are always there :) .. Second thing is in wat circumstances of music u r growing with..If u are a pure blues lover, and u r made to sit in front of a huge METAL show, u r gonna hate it, even if musical value is high, but it will be a crap..Western people judge music better coz 8 out of 10 are musicians there..Indian music is somewhere ahead in term of techniques, in other words, u can term it as BOLLYWOOD music, which i think most musicians dnt like..Even exceptions are here..Like good music exists..ya i do feel bad when i see people going mad on himesh’s and pritam’s tracks, even for the worst..But thts not with the musicians..Some musicians in the industry work or do ‘wah-wahi’ of the worst, just to survive…I agree, general people r illiterate in music, but musicians, not..Its all about how big u are..One beginner will definately love Pritams work, but as he grows up, understands the loopholes, he too will be negative on it..Wat say?
