This is my letter to a broken heart because the only reason you’re heart broken is because the person who was worthy enough to hold it, was chosen. I know you may not hear when a heart breaks, but the sound of a broken heart scratches down on a chalkboard with sharp fingernails. It stops your breath like texting while driving and looking up right as you are about to hit a pedestrian. It scares you awake like falling off a cliff while you’re dreaming. It pains you like wishing you could help, but all you can do is watch, as an innocent child is being tortured. Even if you never intended on falling in love you decided to let go and free fall in to bliss, because you knew that once you threw your heart at them they wouldn’t miss. Even though you left it wide open and vulnerable, you began falling deeper with every kiss and deeper into the abyss. So engulfed with love like the night sky was a blanket to your world, and the stars represented everyone else in your life that came and went. The brightest ones are planets and those are the people you love unconditionally, the people that stand out but never over you. Because you were brave enough to give your heart away. You had the courage to allow another being the opportunity to care more for you, than you could yourself, and unfortunately they will remain in your orbit. And you’re left with a condition, broken heart, with trust, honesty and faith for ammunition. So the next person in line is dared to knock down your wall. And as much as you want another to experience the pain you’ve felt, you wouldn’t wish that type of hurt on anyone. You only wish for it to never happen again…. because the next will be chosen much more wisely wit a less kinder heart. And this is my letter to a broken heart. Sincerely, Heart breaker.
